RICK GALINSON! A mechanical genius is how I introduce and explain what Rick does. Good creature animatronics and robotics have always fascinated me. How one can connect metal, plastic and servo motors to each other and achieve organic fluidity is a magic trick. Rick is more than a mechanic, he’s an engineer. He can create such complex movements or machines and make it seem effortless to do so. Rick and I have become good friends over the past two decades. We’ve been on set with each other on “War Of The Worlds”, “Goosebumps 2” and countless television commercials. Rick has worked with the top people in the industry like Rick Baker, Stan Winston, Steve Johnson and on top shows like “Men in Black”, “Batman Returns”, “A.I.”, “Spider-man II”, “Mighty Joe Young”, The Mandalorian: season 1&2”. I think I can say that Rick’s most notable mechanical creature contribution is that of the Spitter from the original “Jurassic Park” film. But Rick’s interests do not lie only with creatures. He has a passion for drones, submarines, paintball Gatling guns and robots of all kinds.
