After weeks of turmoil and bloodbath, the streets of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka witnessed massive celebrations as lakhs of people poured out on the streets and continued to gather defying the nationwide curfew to celebrate the ouster of the highly unpopular Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who resigned and fled the country on August 5.

Amid the jubilant scenes, there is a lot of apprehension among the protesters and the general public. This stems from the army quickly jumping into the scene as Hasina bowed out and the country’s history of military rule both directly and indirectly.

While the army had assured it’ll help set up an interim government, student protesters demand they be included in the decision-making process and proposed that Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus be made the head of the interim government.

Could a tussle over interim government formation lead to a clash between the student protesters and the army? Does Bangladesh’s ‘struggle for democracy’ end with Hasina’s ouster? Or will Bangladesh slip into another round of military rule?

Watch for more details.

  • Congratulations Bangladeshi Muslim for liberating bangladesh ,make it ruled by sharia, and islam
  • India should start negotiation with the ruling military junta for it's own interests because Hasina is a lost case.

Kuddos to the students for pulling out probably the revolution of the century, unlike Sri Lanka's Gotabbaya Hasina was butchering the protesters left and right. I seriously hope a true democratic govt is formed in our neighborhood as it will ensure stability, any jamat/army backed govt will always be unstable. Good luck to the Bangladeshi brothers and sisters. You all are an inspiration.❤️
