Never thought that those collapsable lightsaber toys would come up in a serious FNaF lore video, but that comparison does make a lot of sense
  • I think it's normal for the lion mascot to have a weird endo since the mimic is made to get bigger or smaller to fit in any costume so it makes sense that its different inside of the costume

A tip for blender: You can middleclick on an object to "focus" on it. Basically, its the new point where the camera revolves around so you dont have to intricately pan or zoom when trying to focus on the different models
  • Man i always appreciate how your willing to ask the questions others look past when it comes to fnaf theorys
  • @frank_calvert
the full lion model is actually in the game files by the way. its interesting they have an earlier mimic design inside the suit, since we have to assume the change of design is not a deliberate detail

i saw a lot of people say that mimic's "burntrap hand" has green fur on it, when i told them it was rust they never believed me, now i will finally have proof that it's just rust

As someone who believes that Burntrap=Mimic, I do really appreciate having you dissecting and comparing the two models cause it can help us to understand what may be the intent of steel wool. Thank you Squawks

Something that makes comparison is really annoying is that designs are constantly changing for characters that are the same. Even the Ruined animatronics do that, such as Eclipse gaining the port on the back of his mask. That's what makes the Mimic vs Burntrap and Glam Freddy vs Ruined Freddy comparisons so frustrating... we don't know what's intentionally different vs what's a retcon
  • @RobolimeV2
I wonder if Steel wool or Scott or whoever put as much thought into the designs as we are with dissecting them. lol
  • @TheCollector2401
The worst part about telling people the Mimic isn’t Burntrap is they point out the Mimic can shapeshift and just ignore all the design differences and keep saying they are the same.

Despite the fact that I personally love Ruin and the Mimic, I think you’re completely right with everything you’re saying. There’s so much misinformation, and so much variety in depictions of the mimic that it’s hard to even say all the versions of the mimic are the same character. We’re at the point where we could plausibly say that Glitchtrap is the mimic, Helpi is the mimic, the tangle is the mimic, Burntrap is the mimic, AND the mimic is the mimic, just because there could technically be many different mimics all running around and doing mimic things. And yes, saying EVERYTHING is the mimic might be extreme, but with how flexible the character is, it’s almost possible. There are some mysteries in FNAF that I love, and ruin did get my brain excited for all the new questions it brought up. But man, MAN, it is so frustrating to not even know who the main villain of this series is. At least that much was clear before now.

Two possibilities: 1. Mimic isn't Burntrap. Burntrap was created by Vanny to give Glitch trap a physical form. 2. Steelwool retconed Burntrap's design to just be part of Gregory's imagination and was moved from the burner room by Vanessa and sealed by concrete and M.X.E.S. in a smaller area further down.

Wow the piston limbs on the mimic is such a cool mechanical detail

If possible, could you also do a video comparing Glamrock Freddy from the base game to Proto Freddy’s model? There's quite a few differences I've noticed, such as the different base colour, no dirt, different cracks, different wrist bands with spikes, the lower chest flap extrudes instead of being tucked in like Glamrock Freddy, the different endoskeleton wires, different joints, different gift box, etc. I also wonder if there's something inside the gift box if you no clip inside it, perhaps another comic page? Comic page 9?

It's very interesting in my opinion. Designs can tell a lot avout characters !
  • @Wizardjones69
Ok, here we go again with the best reality show: who has the most inconcistent design in fnaf? 1: the minigames? 2: afton? 3: the funtimess?
  • @nickrayer3776
The teeth thing is funny because the ruined version of daycare attendant has the same teeth as mimic

I Cant Believe Sire Squawks Dissected Afton For This Video Truly The Next Villian In The FNAF Story
  • @m0002856
I appreciate your dedication into this matter. Honestly, I think what probably happened is that they simply decided to tell a different story. So much was cut from the original Security Breach including those suspected Afton lines. I kinda get the impression that whatever Security Breach was trying to tell us originally has been scrapped for this mimic story instead. Like in any scenario I can think of, this makes the most sense to me. We don't exactly know which ending of Security Breach is the correct ending, but even looking at the Burntrap ending as the canonical ending, it doesn't make sense for Burntrap to be the Mimic still down there. The Blob yoinked him up, and we know the Blob also escaped the Pizzaplex by tunneling through the walls. It doesn't make sense for the two of them to be the same. That being said, the reason I suspect that whatever story they were trying to tell got redesigned is that there's also no hint of the Mimic being a thing in the original Security Breach really. Like... it sounds like the lore behind the Mimic is that he was down in the old Pizza place and was sealed up. But he isn't there in the Burntrap ending unless he IS Burntrap. But I also don't think he IS Burntrap anymore based on Ruin. So, my final guess for what happened is that- They were originally going for a story about Afton actually coming back. For some reason, their original plans for the story changed- Probably near the end of development. There's a lot of stuff with Vanny that was changed for example. I don't know the REASON it was changed (maybe it's less kid-friendly to have a serial killer and a serial killer corpse suit instead of a creepy robot killer), but it seems like something shifted. The Afton always comes back plotline was shifted into being the Mimic instead. When the story of the weird Mimic endoskeleton was first brought up in the books, I 100% thought it was some old Afton endoskeleton. It sounded like they were describing what could have been the endoskeleton of what was one Springtrap down to the antenna that sounded like they could be what remained of bunny ears. But now we see the Mimic in Ruin WITHOUT those features or any defining features that COULD have 100% confirmed that the Mimic and Burntrap were the same. So... they probably just changed the story once again. Maybe they're trying to get rid of Burntrap altogether and just be like, "Yeah there was no Afton thing it was just this guy and the Burntrap ending didn't happen or something." I also kinda think maybe that's why the Mimic endoskeleton and the endoskeleton inside of the Mascot suit don't look the same. The Mascot suit kinda looks more Burntrap than the Mimic does I think, but it is hard to say without having the raw model to compare. I guess we won't know until they reveal what the Blob is doing and whether or not he has Burntrap.

I never thought we’d end up more confused about the books’ canonicity post-ruin. Steel Wool really outdid themselves.
