Its worth saying that if we do fall off the keto wagon , we can just start again the following day because with Fat Adaptation comes a metabolic flexability that enables a quick return into ketosis , post lapse.

Ok, so how would this be different than nature limiting sugars to certain times and places? The insulin response will return if you eat carbs two or three days in a row, you certainly don’t lose the ability for it to do so.
  • I'd love to know Dr Lustig's advice on dietary Cu.. (I believe in this Man's integrity... can't say that about all advocates here)

It's a pitty. The man has done so much science and information concerning the role of fructose in our modern diseases. But for some reason he never liked the low-carb idea. (And although I don't like that "argument", he himself never looked like he had nailed the nutrition (and sports) side of life.) The whole argument he is making here is made up. First of all: You can observe the complete opposite when fat-adapted people eat that one pizza. Because they have no insulin stored, they are kind of 'functional insulin resistance' for a short time. Then the pancreas wakes up and produces the needed insulin. And secondly: If your blood sugar goes up because of that one "cheat-meal", Carb-burning will immediately be prioritised by the cells. They don't unlearn it. (As someone else already said: This makes evolutionary sense for the use of occasional fruit.) To do him justice, he is right in one point: If you're doing a half-hearted high fat medium carb diet, than you're probably in second worst space (topped only by high fat high carb ;-)
