Wow! Create a very high end reversible jacket on a dime, using upcycled preloved items and materials. No patterns, we will be unifying two pretty pre owned floral shirts, if we sew them wrong sides together...we have a reversible garment. I will take you step by step, with detailed explanation, through everything it takes to create this stunning lagenlook / cottage core jacket. First, we crop and creatively cut the tops to begin making our shape. Then, we decorate them with beautiful patches, bird appliques, dragonfly appliques, florals and so much more. Finally we make a fun patchwork, double sided ruffle for the bottom and flared sleeves. This is such a wonderful concept...and it works. I've wanted to try this for a long time. I've seen similar jackets sell for hundreds and hundreds of dollars...enjoy!

  • Dear Traci, I think what sets you apart ( besides your expertise, artistic expression, teaching gifts…) is your gift for colour. People watching should very carefully examine the colour choices. Both the shirts were complimentary colour wise, which is why they were pleasing to the eye. This is why Traci is such a delight to watch, she makes it look so effortless. She’s the Kaffe Fasset of repurposing! Much love & admiration Traci xxxx

Girl, you wore me slam dab out! I had to have a lie down and fan myself. That's the most amazing piece of fashion art ever. Kudos.

You are definitely my queen of recycle and repurpose!❤ This project blew me away. When I try to channel my Traci vibe, sometimes it looks like I'm just throwing bits and pcs of fabric to cover up holes...lol. You create true works of art to wear. Thank you sooo much for sharing with us!!!
  • Chaos creation! I can’t believe I finally found a sewing philosophy that fits me and isn’t directed to the 20 somethings . Thrift, quilt, collage, what’s not to love. I’ ve been altering, and up cycling for over 50 years. At 60+, and losing my vision,I am finally giving myself permission to really run amuck and make myself happy. Now to create a place in my 600 ft apt to sew. 🫤 HUGE thanks for the inspiration. I love this.
  • You have outdone yourself . . .again. The jacket is fabulous and, yes, I definitely need to make one. ❤❤❤Your channel rocks!

You are correct, engineering this project has been one hair pulling event. I love your jacket, it is sensational to look at. Thank you so so very much for sharing your hard worked engineered project jacket, it’s lovely. You are a Gem ❤️ Have a Safe 4th of July- that goes for everyone who is reading my comment!

  • I always wondered how reversible clothing was made. Thanks for this technique!
  • Shut up! This is so stinking cute! I have to make this. I love it so much.I have already made the men's overalls and one of your bags. Love them so much. It takes me triple the amount of time it takes you....I am sure but I just love these ideas instead of going out and purchasing really expensive boring clothing. The sleeves really make this!

Thanks for the easy to understand instructions and ALWAYS getting to the point of the project. I combine a lot of your methods with other up cyclers and my own and I've made and sold a lot of cool things for my store. Never stop making videos you're the best to watch w/out annoying ads on my premium channel trying to sell me on your sponsors.
