  • The song is about lucid dreaming. Which is being able to consciously control your dreams. It takes practice but it is possible.

"The mind tricked you to feel the pain of someone close to you leaving the game of life"... 27 yrs ago when this song was still popular, I had a dream my baby son died in his crib... I woke up crying, feeling the VERY REAL pain of losing a child... There's not a worse feeling.!

Queensryche had some great albums, most of their stuff is heavier than this, but this song is so good and Geoff Tate's voice has so much depth. The Operation Mindcrime album is amazing and the entire thing is a story that plays out from song to song.

This is from the album Empire, the best album you've never heard of, buy it, its fantastic, more depth than you can imagine

A perfect song. Perfectly written, sung, and with a perfect ending. Thank you for reacting.

This is still one of my all time faves. Geoff tate's vocals and range are always top notch. I remember when I first heard this thinking this was one heck of a departure from everything that I heard from Queensryche up until that point, and it otally blew me away that could write and perform this type of song which such power and delicacy all rolled into one. it is still a complete masterpiece.

I remember when this song was HUGE! Mtv and Vh1 constantly played this video back when they used to be about music. I feel so old.

What I love about true artists is that you can’t fit them into one clear box. I love when people discover that the same group that brought you Into the Eyes of a Stranger also can switch it up entirely and level you with Silent Lucidity. That’s the power and palette of an incredible artist such as Queensryche and the vocal performance of Geoff Tate in particular! Enjoy!
  • Great Band my dear, we were fans right from the first EP, which had the classic tracks The Lady Wore Black and the Queen of the Reich. You should hear them both, they were awesome right away and the next 4 full albums are absolute classics in heard rock mixed with a bit of metal and prog/metal at that. I was lucky to see them 6 times, including several in their prime, they always put on a great show and Geoff Tate was incredible on vocals. Seeing Operation Mindcrime was a trip, those guys were a cut above. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

The 1991 MTV music awards , or the MTV unplugged versions of this song will make you melt into your socks . They were truly a band to see in concert . I have seen them 2 times on different tours , simply amazing onstage

Queensryche is a progressive metal band so this is a much mellower song than most of their other music. I really like the original lineup albums. They varied their style on each album - very creative. Geoff is definitely one of metal's great vocalist. Check out "Take Hold Of The Flame" from live in Tokyo 1984 for some of their metal sound. But I like loads of their music. This here is a great song, too.

What a great song this is. I'm happy you get the pleasure of listening to it. It's one of those that I stop what I'm doing an listen to when it comes on. Even this many years later.
  • One of the songs that i woudl call "perfect". Just a beautiful ride 😎 operation mindcrime and Empire were their best albums. Cant go wrong with any track from those albums

The best Pink Floyd song, not actually done by Pink Floyd, of all time.
