The M4000D is a gem of a musical instrument. The mini and micro Mellotrons are a good investment budget wise and they're pretty good. I jumped on the grenade and acquired the M4000D plus sound cards 02-03-04-05-06 and I'm set for life regarding the Chamberlin, M400, Mark II, and Mark V Mellotron sounds plus the M4000D can be tweaked to reproduce all the original Mellotron rack sounds. I paid $2,700.00 in 2017 for the M4000D, then $1,100.00 for the bundle 02-03-04 sound cards, then $750.00 for sound cards 05-06. My total investment is $4,450.00 and worth every penny. I own the most envied keyboard instrument in the industry. There is a sound card 07 available, and from what I understand, it contains loops of the band sound from the previous 5 sound cards. I haven't seen any demo's of 07 yet but I'll bet it's the bomb too. I love my M4000D.

Didn't really tell me much beyond what it looked like, or what I could glean from a cursory glance at one...........but he was wearing a hat so that part was on brand.
