My heart is set on getting the mini. To get the compactness you sacrifice the real tapes but that's no great loss. I love that it looks as beautiful as the originals & it has huge posing power by proudly displaying the real Mellotron name on the front! Also instead of having to mess around changing bulky space consuming tape sets you have 100 sounds + card expansion.

Was playing Prog back in the ‘70s with electic violinist and the guy with the only Mellotron on the East Coast of U.S. at the time. Was incredible.

The Mellotron Alto Sax mixed with the Chamberlin Flute demo gave me goosebumps. The phrasing was beautiful!

I was really intrigued by this board, but not seriously considering buying one. Then I watched this guy play for three minutes, I immediately went to Reverb and ordered one.

If you really want to open up and expand the majestic power of the Mellotron M4000D, run it through an effects amp because reverb and the other settings are a Mellotron's best friend that adds depth and soul. (Fender, Peavy, and Marshall put out some really good effect amps to compliment the Mellotron). A volume and sustain pedal are must haves. To really take a walk on the wild side, run your Mellotron through some guitar effect pedals. I do. I bought my Mellotron in 2017 and I haven't even made a dent regarding all the different and beautiful sounds this gem can produce. I jumped on the grenade and added sound cards 02-03-04-05-06 and holy moly.......this beast is unstoppable. Marcus just came out with a sound card 07, and from what I understand, it's loops of the band sounds. There is a "high/low" setting too, but with all the Youtube Mellotron demo videos out there, nobody ever experiments with it. The low setting is a really cool feature. Rock on my friends.

This sounds like the best orchestra/mixed instruments VST ever. It's a crime these samples can't be released publicly or open sourced. And more of a crime there is no cheap alternative even close.

    Wow. Just wow dude. 👍🏽❤️
  • @RayyMusik
Beautiful sounds beyond the usual strings & choir suspects. 👍
  • I was feeling melancholy and was wanting to listen to the first song that plays in this demo but couldn't remember where the song was from. Made me laugh when I remembered it was from a gear demo
  • Check out Neutral Earth (full album). Both the mini and micro are used. Less one octave they pretty much sound alike. Prog on...
