In today’s video, we’ll be tasting Jones Soda’s original Nuka-Cola Quantum collaboration with Bethesda from the release of Fallout 4, comparing it with the more recent GFuel Nuka-Cola Quantum collaboration, and making Nuka-Cola Quantum from scratch, courtesy of The Official Vault-Dweller’s Cookbook from Fallout and Bethesda Gear, all at Takahashi's Power Noodles in Diamond City. We'll also talk about Nuka-Cola Victory and its parallels to the release of Nuka-Cola Quantum a decade ago. For the past 10 years, I have been more of an Elder Scrolls and Skyrim fan, but have dabbled with the Fallout Series (I hope the Fallout Amazon Series is good by the way, looks good to me so far but I can't wait to see more of the New California Republic!).

Nuka-Cola Quantum was created in October 2076 under the codename "Sea Lion" by the Beverageer Division at Nuka-World. It was a byproduct of Project Cobalt, which began in 2076 when Nuka-Cola Corporation engaged in weapons research under U.S. military sponsorship. The team found that a strontium-90 isotope derivative, originally developed for military ordinance, created a bright blue glow that worked well as a food additive when adjusted for consumption (although several taste testers did not survive). The lead Beverageer, Rex Meacham, gave the new drink formula its distinctive name.

The setting of Fallout exists in an alternate timeline that completely diverged from our own timeline after World War II. From this split all the way up until the Great War in 2077, a technologically advanced retrofuturistic atomic age representation of the 1950s dominated the culture and society of the fiction of the Fallout series. In particular, the United States was dominated by the continuation of a corrupted American Dream and an overly suppressive form of American exceptionalism. The science-fiction anthology Worlds of Tomorrow, published during the Golden Age of Science Fiction in the 1950s, heavily influenced this representation.

just came here from tiktok and i think it’s safe to say ill be sticking around for more content like this, even the elder scrolls stuff sounds really cool!
  • Honestly that first bottle is probably the most authentic Fallout experience you could have. An old bottle of soda from many years past in questionable condition that only managed to survive by chance.

I always knew Blueberry Lemonade Jones Soda was our Universes Nuka Quantum.

Fun fact. I currently work at target, and the nuka cola quantum promotion being bought up by target employees is partially responsible for the current policy in place. We now have to give customers a 15 minute grace period after the doors open to have a fighting chance to get new releases
  • I love how when he said he wished the G fuel one had carbonation I was instantly like “he should put it through one of those soda stream things” and then all of a sudden he busts out the soda stream
  • Fun fact Bethesda sent a very limited amount of special nuka cola quantum to YouTubers and streamers (mxr play/mods is one of those people)

Nuka Quantum is my favorite version of Nuka. It’s got some cool facts behind it. It actually glows because it contains the Isotope Strontium-90, which if consumed enough can cause bone decay.

Oh, my god, I have a unique story to go along with this episode. I have the cookbook as well and made Nuka Cola Quartz (the vanilla one). First time I'd actually made soft drink syrup and scraped vanilla beans etc. It came out great and I made spiders with it (floats if you're American). Anyway, the recipe makes a LOT of syrup and I didn't know what to do with it. Well it just so happened a few weeks later was my partners birthday and I decided to bake her a cake. Just using a pre-made mix. Betty crocker I think, strawberry cake, possibly vanilla. But the important part is it was a 'super moist' recipe and as I'm making it, I figured this would be a great way to use up the syrup. After all it's essentially just sugar and vanilla. So I add either one whole cup or two, I can't quite remember but that's a lot of liquid to add to a mix so I didn't push it too far. Anyway as it turns out, it was the best cake I have ever made (to date). My partner loved it and I was worried it would come out like a slurry or not cook properly but no, super sweet, super moist cake that tasted fantastic. I dubbed it my "syrup cake" and I need to make it again some day. So yeah, if anyone makes any syrups from this, I don't know if it will work for all the flavours but you can use the excess in cakes and it'll go great.

I’d highly recommend mixing the gfuel quantum with either club soda or any other carbonated water instead of just plain water, it makes the flavor so much better

Bro no way you only have 970 subs. I love your style of narration. It’s very evident that you spent a lot of time on this video

Just finished EP1 of Fallout then stumbled on this, I hope this channel grows infinitely, peak entertainment

If u want it to "glow" use Tonic water instead(seltzer/club).....and a black light[tonic water has a enzyme that reacts to UV light]

I had no idea there was going to be a Fallout show, and when I saw it pop up in my Prime feed... I already "knew" it was going to be terrible. 99% of video game to live action film adaptations are awful, and I didnt see this being in that 1% of good ones. Well well well.... after watching 2 episodes last night, I have to say it may be the best live action adaptation Ive ever seen. Some animated shows are great, like the Castlevania show, but I was thoroughly impressed. Sure, they had to put some stuff in there for "Modern Audiences", but it wasnt enough to be bothersome. Great acting, really good effects, super violent, and most importantly, its very faithful to the game. If you havent seen it yet, I cannot recommend it enough
  • @uptown_rider8078
By the Nine Divines, a Fallout video! The quality and effort you put into making this one is just as amazing as all your other vids, thank you for your great work
  • @jennysmith3795
Honestly the nula cola quantum gfuel gives me a mainly coconut flavor with a hint of pineapple and berry. Definitely recommend for the fallout fans! I recommend putting it into a nuka cola quantum bottle for the best experience
  • I was unprepared for a Baloonshop reference in 2024, you sir are a man of the highest culture :D Mixing the handmade and Gfuel version seems like the most legit version for sure, that energy drink B-vitamin weirdness seems nicely representative of the more sketchy ingredients on the ingame drink

13:30 Big cup yes that’s why all Nuka-Cola bottles are 12 ounces. They fit in the same 12 ounce Mexican Coca-Cola glass bottle.
  • @millertime3864
The nuka cola victory they released with the show is peach mango flavor. They are Jones' Soda. Managed to grab a couple at Fred Meyer in Washington state. That's Kroger for you east coasters.
  • I've made multiple batches of the Quantum recipe. I have always used 6 tablespoons. It has a perfectly good amount of flavor, in my opinion.
