The US Maybach launch was a TOTAL MESS!

I was driving a client's Rolls-Royce Phantom in Bethesda, MD when something similar happened. I was by myself. I was driving with all the windows down but wasn't playing the stereo or anything else annoying. This woman in a Focus stopped at the light next to me and starts screaming at me, "You rich A**H***" and more things along those lines. I just looked at her very perplexed and just rolled up the windows and motioned that I couldn't hear her anymore. That was the most extreme but there was something about the Phantoms that brought emotions out of people either positive or negative that other really expensive cars I've driven didn't.

Maybachs were so underrated, I once saw the Exelero at the 04‘ Frankfurt IAA that thing was amazing, I wished they had gotten more attention

They are sweet cars! For my 21st birthday in 2006, I took a trip to Vegas, and we had a Maybach 57 that chauffeur us around town.

At the time I drove both a 2005 Land Rover LR3 and a 2006 Kia Sedona minivan. When I needed to change lanes or merge into traffic, no one would allow me to do so in the Land Rover. But the Kia, wow. I was constantly getting checked out in that van. The only problem that I faced, was I was always pulled over by the Police in the van. I could have had drugs piled to the ceiling in the Land Rover and no one batted an eye.

Man those things were and still are so beautiful to me.

Had a buddy that bought an Aston recently. Week later it was parked outside the local mall after taking his boys to a movie. He comes out and the whole car is keyed. He’d just moved to that area weeks previously so it wasn’t a scorned lover or something

I have a way better story. Driving my boss at the time who owned a bunch of car dealerships in bayridge brooklyn, one night driving him, his wife and daughter for her sweet 16th birthday. I dropped them off at a catering place and had a few hours to myself with a brand new 1989 rolls royce. So i drove to find something to eat with this brand new black rolls royce at the time and drove to this Italian store/ candy store and there were some old timers hanging out outside on chairs socializing like we use to do back in the day, and i get out dressed in blue jeans and a ok looking sport jacket and i asked one of the old guys if they sold those quarter fruit drinks lol, i got that and a bag of dipsy doodles 🤣 all i had on me was a dollar bill ,they were like wtf , this cheap fucker, that's how he can afford that car lol, remember i wasnt dressed like a chauffeur....😃

As a hobbyist Wheeler Dealer, whenever I'm talking to an over enthusiastic buyer and he says "I'm going to buy the car, I just need to talk to my wife", I know I'll be looking for the next buyer. The Chief Financial Officer always kills the fun.

Random question but does anyone remember seeing a vinwiki video about a car factory somewhere in Europe (I believe) and it talked about all the bad things that happened like guys spray painting wieners on cars trunks and someone died while working.
