  • Fun fact: The creator of the Cars movies has said in past interviews that there were once humans in the Cars universe, but they were all killed at one point, possibly in a war between humans and cars. That's why cars still have door handles, steering wheels etc. They're vestigial organs left over from a time before they shook off the yoke of their oppressors.

For the Cars video: What determines sentience in the car world? Planes are sentient but only have one purpose. Do the planes go home to their families? Is a chainsaw sentient because it has a motor? The list goes on

I remember watching the Fast & Furious with my Dad. He cracked up when they showed off this snap on tools. He was like, who doesn't have them. When he died I went through all his cool tools, and there was his set of snap on tools. 😊
  • as a deaf car enjoyer I just wanna say thank you for the captions that you guys put on your videos! most car channels seem to turn them off or leave it autogenerated— but I have been watching y’all for awhile and it means a lot to me! (ps. make that cars video)
  • @TimoNoco
One of my favorite bits of cars lore is that in Cars 2 (undeniably the best of all the Cars movies), is the presence of Sarge and all his WWII military buddies means that there was a WWII, presumably for the same reasons as our world, meaning that canonically there is a certain young car who was turned away from his favorite Austrian art school as a lad...
  • @johnniemiec3286
On the clip from "Dazed and Confused"... funny how Jobe says it's like he just read the owners manual. The very next line is the dude in the black tee calling Wooderson out for that motor being available in a magazine.
  • 7:45 here's the reason for the 'small air scoop'. Sitting just underneath is a vintage fuel injection system instead of a traditional carburetor, likely that particular set up wasn't running a paper air cleaner; it had only wire mesh screen on top of the fuel injection box. This type of fuel injection was common on supercharged boats as well. Very period-correct!
  • 2 decades later and I'm still trying to figure out how a shot of nitrous made threaded fasteners come out like projectiles.
  • @thegriva7813
The place 'radiator springs' in cars is the same as using a body part and then a body of water.. the same as liver-pool
  • @Churbas
I can explain the Phase 4 head - Where the US had "Stage 1/2/3" mods, Australians tended to use "Phase" instead, because some Australian car companies tended to use "Phase" in their performance marketing and naming, like the famous Ford Falcon GTHO Phase 3 and Phase 4(Of which, only four were built, and only one was sold production). A Phase 4 Head, in that era of Australian parlance, would be a heavily modded, practically bespoke part built purely for performance with no compromises. Like, the kind of shit you'd put on something built from the ground up for racing, like a V8 Supercar.
  • The phase 4 is the last falcon gtho made which played a hand in the Australian muscle car scare which killed big Australian muscle cars, so essentially it's using the biggest fastest falcon parts for the time.

I loved their reactions to Gone in 60 Seconds. They're perfectly valid. You spend a lot of time laughing during that movie, and it's not because it's funny. 🤣
  • @yaboi3210
2:01 Those are carburetors though, they're weber DCO with a crossram intake
  • Cars do have "animals" tho, cows are tractors and there is also a bull in the form of a combine harvester, also another I always wondered about is how new cars are born, and how old ones die
  • @soapa4279
My favorite Carspiracy is that it's set in the future where the human race was potentially going extinct, so they found a way to put their subconscious into machines. That explains the sidewalks. Also don't forget there are sentient planes, boats, and other various vehicles.
  • @dspeidel15
In the cars movies, the cars are an abstract for humans. It is pretty messed up that the one cars movie about the secret agents essentially shows one agent's corpse (the crushed up car at the beginning) and another agent being tortured and executed. And there is probably more that I can't remember. All of this in a kids movie. Bruce Campbell is pretty dope too
  • @dr_skipwith
Cars takes place sometime in the future on the Pixar timeline. If I remember correctly, it's thought that machines took over Earth after the humans were sent to outer space by a company called Buy n Large due to heavy pollution (Wall-E). That's why, especially in Cars 2, there is a lot of architecture that was very clearly built for humans, by humans. Also, Zach is not a true car guy until he has seen Cars.
  • @porthos88
Anyone notice in the first movie (transformers) those “throttle bodies” seemed to look more like painted side draft Webber carburettors?
  • @MrMvdw
The first engine from transformers has 4 double Weber or delorto carburettors. So Meagan did really knew something about it… 😉
  • @ToothlessGTI
I love the super chill dog in this video. Pup is so comfortable hearing car jargon that the doggo just says "Nap time".
