I’ve quit vaping and the biggest difference to me is how fresh I wake up in the morning.

Thank you for making this video. I’ve been struggling immensely to quit and I feel like it’s making my anxiety so so bad, a “living hell” as you said. I’m quitting today 12/26/23 and i’ll be returning to this video when i need motivation and I’m leaving this comment to maybe weirdly hold myself accountable. we’ll all get there eventually guys.

I vaped while studying, running errands, watching tv, before and after I showered, before and after I ate, and in the bathroom while out with friends. It was constant. I'm on day thirty-four of quitting. I keep in mind the reason I quit. Time passes but my emotional memory is still in effect because I know that in about 6 months, I might buy a vape knowing that I could simply "quit again". I need to remember what vaping did to me. I experienced brain fog, it messed with my throat, my skin aged, and I experienced shortness of breath while doing small physical tasks. Quitting will always be worth it. To anyone reading this, I know it's tough but keep going and one day you will forget that you even took up a vaping habit.

The "debilitating anxiety" you speak of is SO GOD DAMN TRUE. Don't underestimate this one folks. I was having almost daily panic attacks and I kept asking myself "why? I don't even feel anxious about anything". The nicotine itself causes you anxiety, even if you aren't feeling it mentally. I didn't make the connection at first either while I was vaping but within 3 days of quitting it was all gone.

I agree man, Nicotine definitely demotivates you in terms of certain things “making adhd worse” in a way. That’s the main thing I am noticing. The important things / less fun things to do are sooo much harder to do when using nicotine. Procrastination is insane on nicotine. You can be the most driven person & nicotine will slice that to pieces. Appreciate your insight on this as someone with adhd. Nicotine is disgusting & evil man, I’m certain on it. Waking up spiting out blood / having zero energy & feeling like death half of the time is not it. Don’t ever go back dawg 🤞🏽🖤

I’ve lost track of exactly how long it’s been but it’s gotta be over 6 months sober for me, for those struggling IT FEELS SO F*CKING GOOD!! I remember feeling like a slave to the drug and I couldn’t live life without it but now a friend can vape next to me and I don’t even care!

I stepped down from vaping to pouches and then reduced my intake until i eventually had the strength to quit. Still get intense cravings 8mo later but somthing RFK Jr said stuck with me. "I didn't want to be 'white knuckle' sober". So when i get these cravings I remind myself of the kind of person i want to be; the kind of person that has inner peace knowing they pulled themselves out of the depths of addiction without constant fear of crashing back down.

Wise words man. I appreciate this video a lot
  • I actually loved this video. I think you are very introspective and you summed up a lot of stuff that’s really relatable to me. That feeling after a few months of ‘you could just go and get a vape’ is so annoying haha. Because it makes you feel like it’s not a big deal because you can’t remember the bad parts as deeply

Your experience with the addictive voice is similar to mine with alcohol. I have decided that I will not drink...but I allow myself to re-evaluate that decision every so often. I can change my mind about drinking any time I want to, but I promised myself that if I did decide to pick up drinking, it would not be a spur-of-the-moment type of thing--it would be something I planned out carefully--almost like buying a car or a house. So my rules are: 1. Never ever drink. 2. You may drink again if you carefully evaluate that decision. "What would happen if I decided to drink again." I list pros and cons and I ask myself "Do you really want to drink" and the answer so far has always been "no" (just shy of two years alcohol free).

Coffee really helps. I know caffeine is addicting too but I learned black coffee is healthy to drink. I haven't vaped in about a month and I'm still holding strong despite the cravings. I found your channel from your paranoid personality video and I struggle with that too. I value ur content so I'm definitely going to like and sub keep it up man 🙏🏽

I'm glad you made this video. I'm working on quitting vaping now as my new years resolution. My last hit was Jan 2nd (it's Jan 7th today) and I've been watching videos like this talking about what it's like after a year of quitting. I've found that's making me more envious of you guys that have quit rather than being envious of the people still vaping around me. I wouldn't mind if you did another few videos on the topic just kind of discussing life without it.

I quit smoking by vaping (I smoked for 40 years). After a while vaping wasn't so important any more. So I quit vaping because I wanted to be free. I am feeling so happy every day that I don't have any addictions. I am truly free and been so already for 8 years😅
  • @peteytwofinger
good job will. i was bad news - when i sday that you can trust that i am not telling tales or stretching truths , i was bad news . nicotene had me . i was a smoker ,then i switched to vape with intent to quit , i vaped for one year and tapered the nic slowly. i hit zero and sold all my vape stuff . now it is been maybe ten years for me . i dont miss it at all . stay strong pal . you will know you are finally quit because you do not miss it . thats the thing , i tried to quit for 9 times and every time i made it from 3 months to a year but i went back .
  • @MikeThePole
Back in my days people just called it smoking. I've smoked for 17 years, quit one day and it's been 3 years since and I'm feeling fresh. Good luck to y'all and hope you stay clean long!
  • im on day 5 and its making me realise how addicted i truly am. i only vaped consistently for two months and now that i quit i miss it more and more, completely ignoring the bad side affects i got. i was the same as you in that it made my anxiety so much worse. it became such a routine, every time i would go to the bathroom at work, at the mall, or even out for lunch with my family i had to have a couple hits. watching tv in bed or playing games, i would do it, it became a really fun mouth fixation. ive tried to move on to chewing gum as replacement for this, but my hunger has been extremely high since quitting so ive been overeating ( i didnt realise how much of an appetite suppressant vaping was for me until now). i will say thought i feel way less anxious already, and my lungs already feel 'cleaner'. despite these positives i really badly want to stop by the vape shop and buy a fresh one. thank you for your video it is very informative.
  • @zotuosy
im on day 19. sometimes it feels easy and sometimes it feels impossible, its weird.. distractions help to an extent, but that's all i can do. hearing that cravings never really stop is a little discouraging, but i know its worth bettering my health. they're becoming less frequent anyway. i just wish i never started lol
  • @observingthem
Sees other guy vaping after 8 month of quitting. Holy shit I would get a super buzz if I hit one right now. Then the other side of me is like I’m not spending $20 on bullshit I don’t need anymore. And then I’ll feel enlightened by the fact of how far I’ve come.
  • @martint.1538
Well done and congratulations on quitting this awful habit. Keep it up and god bless. Honestly 🎩 off to you. X
  • man i’m only halfway through this video but i just want to say thank you because so many of these things that you’re bringing up describe me perfectly!!!!! however i never realized in the first place that some of these things had to do with nicotine. (btw i am actively trying to quit, i’m barely even a day sober lol but im still trying)
