Counterpoint to the weird battery voltage justification, from an electronics engineer: the 15V USB-C step could've achieved everything Apple wanted in terms of power delivery, with very little VRM modification. When you have hardware development control like they do, accepting 45W instead of 40W is essentially turning a dial.

Most tech channels are a waste of time, you can usually guess at everything they'll bring up. But I always appreciate that you dive deeper Quinn. You're a much more thorough journalist in this area than most.

"I know you've seen a million Vision Pro videos already but this one is different" YES, every product video from you is different and amazing compared to the others, I love to wait for your videos of any device, you really make a difference in the million videos here, thank you!
  • I like Apple products just like Quinn does, but there is no one on YouTube who I can count on to deliver an objective technical review like Quinn. This review is a perfect example of his fair and thorough reviews. I’ve watched a dozen Vision Pro reviews, and I learned more about the product from this video. Awesome job.
  • @Big_Cohones
This is exactly why I subscribe to you, Quinn. You brought up SO MANY points that I haven't heard from any other reviewer, and I've watched A LOT of Vision Pro reviews lol. Videos like this are why you are not "just another tech reviewer". You bring something unique and more insightful to us. Thank you for that!
  • @Dnisc
That is so funny because when I used the Vision Pro for the first time, I began to question my eye sight. But I’m glad it’s just the effect of the pass through cameras.
  • @BettMagnett
Finally! I have been eagerly awaiting for this video since the penultimate Saturday for 2 weeks!
  • @nicova7834
1:30 seconds in and you already gave much more useful information than 90% of reviewers do
  • @K00L9
When Quinn pulled out the whiteboard I couldn't help but feeling like I was back in a high school classroom, giggling every time he said WATT LOAD 🤣
  • @grproteus
Thank you for an honest, no-shill take on the avp. They are very rare on YouTube. Also, while you were talking about eyes and vision quality: A squint-to-zoom feature would be super awesome in this headset.
  • @Cookie-mv2hg
The eye examine is actually very practical impression! Great job
  • @nicoj888
First real review so far, he took the time to study the details of the device, every other reviewer just posted “first impressions” and called it a review

While I haven't tried the Vision Pro myself, keep in mind that the effective brightness on VR Headsets is afaik basically always way lower than what the displays are quoted for, not just because of the optics but through heavy black frame insertion too, to minimize motion blur. I would expect the Pro to be well below 1000 nits because without any incoming light from the outside, that would be way too bright for comfort anyways.
  • @TheWrongButton
You are only reviewer I've seen who understands that the mAh rating alone of a battery DOES NOT EQUAL ITS ENERGY CAPACITY! Thank you for vindicating me in this small way Quinn.
  • @alinayossimouse
This is the review I've been waiting for. Thank you for being one of the only reviewers who tackled this headset with this much know-how, scrutiny and balance between excitement and clarity
  • @paul_puri
Jeezy creezy! This was a fantastic breakdown. I am always amazed at how hard you go on your research. I am envious and thankful. I also want that Fusion Dock.
  • @SterlingSanders
@Snazzy Labs haven’t said it enough, but I really appreciate you sir. The thorough nature with which you research and review, showing the full chess board and perspective of every subject, the deep dive into the underlying details of technology, and the balanced nature with which you communicate your opinion. Even when I disagree with you, I respect your opinion. Thanks for the hard work, the effort, and the energy from all these years, it’s really appreciated.
  • @yawenmo7774
You were the first reviewer to explain the battery capacity thing. It hurt so much watching other reviewers only mentioning the mAh and comparing it to smart phone batteries. I wondered if they all had skipped physics class or something.
  • @Gogo8mkd
Amazing! I was waiting for this video since day one. I really appreciate the thoroughness, and you always have most of my let's say "niche" questions answered. Like for an example pixels per degree, speakers frequency response and quality, and the pass-through refresh rate. Well done!
  • @thejosephchoi
I love the more in-depth reviews and technical analysis by Quinn. Whenever I watch other peoples' reviews, I always get the sense that there are a lot of missing details since most of those people just go over surface level experiences and marketing bullet points. Keep doing what you do, Quinn! This was an excellent video.
