I've been on the hunt for the ultimate, most powerful Intel/RTX laptop available right now. This is the Lenovo Legion 9i, and it's packing eye-watering specs like an i9 13980HX CPU and RTX 4090 GPU. But is it worth the price tag? And how does it stack up to other laptops out there?

After all the researches and ton of Laptop reviews that of course I cant afford, I have come to conclusion that having money would be the source of happiness

This Laptop is an absolutely beautiful piece of artwork. It's insane, and this is coming from a macbook pro user

All those horrible stickers on the palm rest I'd have to peel off, count me out. 😇

The performance doesn't matter if the battery dies in 2 hours in demanding workloads and the performance is heavily throttled when, you know, you use it portable. Macbooks are far better currently.

I've been a fan of the Legion series and previously owned a Legion Slim 7i from last year. It was an incredible powerhouse from the money, but for the $4000 price, I'll be honest: I would choose the Macbook without hesitation. I would take my Macbook i9 from 2019 on travel simply for the performance on battery, the Legion required me to find a plug to get the full performance and the fans were insanely loud. But if Legion took the price down to $3000, I would say that would be more competitive.

Why do people keep saying this is the "most expensive laptop ever"? It's cheaper than the Razor Blade 16 ($4299), its the same price as the Acer Predator Triton 17x ($3799), if we're comparing laptops with mini-LED, 4090's, and all metal builds. The Legion's price is comparable to Alienware's less well built options once you add a coupon code.

Not a huge Mac fan, but I wish there were more PC laptops that had an understated case design without RGB, ran cool and quiet and had similarly good performance on battery. Currently have an Asus G15 from the year Asus thought it was a good idea to forgo a web camera (right in the middle of the pandemic), but hope to upgrade to a Framework laptop in the future if the 16 is any good. The Legion seems like a good laptop, but I really don't like the aesthetic and prefer the design of Lenovo's Thinkpads, though they tend to be overpriced vs gaming laptops.

😅 The people saying to unplug it and see, i get it already! But you don't buy this to render animated 3d scenes at the cafe or to run Cyberpunk 2077 at the park at max res with options maxed out. If battery life and unplugged performance are critical for you, consider Apple's M1-3 MacBooks. If sustained peak performance in a 'luggable' form factor with modest unplugged mobile chops, something like this might be what you need.

Nice bit of kit but very expensive and therefore a niche product. Certainly not on my radar because of the price no matter how good it is. But for those that can afford it, then definitely shortlist material for a home rig. I would still suggest something more practical for a second machine for portability off the mains.

So much better than a macbook. I never use my macbook (M2 Max) unplugged anyway. I got a Legion Pro 7i (4090) and ever since, my macbook pro m2 has been collecting dust as I bring my legion with me while traveling

It would be interesting to see how it performs against the M3 Max. In CPU Apple should have a huge advantage given that the M3 Max is already significantly better than i9 14th gen. Yet in GPU tasks should be the Lenovo that wins unless the task requires a lot of Vram which the Macbook should have an advantage in the higher spec models. In mixed tasks should be very interesting what the winner would be.

you can get a 20% percent FPS boost in games in a laptop using a external monitor,MUX switch ON, and the right port to connect the external monitor .
  • @RichWithTech
That thinks looks classy (and expensive) as heck
  • @03blkss
Great video! Must be nice to be “gifted” this machine!
  • you talk about more laptops that can compete with this one, which would be your actual recommendation of a laptop on the same level as this one or above?
  • @GodRockCafe
Feel like using a regular keyboard can’t be much different than moving the laptop keyboard forward

I was only able to afford the Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 Intel (16″) with RTX 4090

I love this laptop but i will wait for Intel Core Ultra, Meteor Lake on 14th December 2023.😍😎 First time ever true efficiency from Intel will start from December 2023.😎 This will be just a first step. Biggest step will be in 2024 with Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake using Intel 20A node. I am very very excited for all upcoming Intel Core ultra, hyper efficient soc.😊
