The first issue of “Artistes du Fenua” takes you to meet Orama Nigou, textile designer. His creative approach is inspired by the “Maro’Ura”, a Polynesian royal belt dating from pre-European times. The young artist carried out a very in-depth investigation, particularly regarding the feather sewing techniques used. Since then, Orama has returned to fenua and tirelessly creates works of feathers and textiles. From openings to ephemeral exhibitions, from artistic residencies to moments of introspection, through Fashion Week, we follow Orama in its creative process... right down to the fiber.
