I watched it so you don't have to. Spoilers ahead!

If there was doubt in anyone's mind, this episode pretty much confirmed it. RTD clearly loves Bridgerton. Oh, of course, that other thing.

Yes, Dr Ncuti takes Ruby back to early 19th Century England to cosplay Bridgerton, fights against cosplaying bird aliens, and fall in love with a dashing young man, who is TOTALLY not a Jack Harkness replacement. It's Pride Month everyone and this episode is clearly well-timed.

That's right.... The Doctor doesn't act like a hero anymore....
  • The doctor was not into anyone. It should never have gone in that direction. He is not human and therefore did not have human motivations. That’s what made it special and fun.

As a gay man I am offended by what DW has become. I've seen every existing story from Hartnell - Whittaker. I was lucky enough to meet Jon Pertwee at a convention in the late 80's. It's so sad what has happened ... a slap in the face to the fans who kept it going for 60 years. I prefer the classic episodes, especially Tom Baker. It's worse than a show gone bad. It's a culture gone bad. RTD makes me sick for actively destroying what he did in 2005. My 10 yr. old nephew loves the classic DW I've shown him. I wouldn't show this modern day wokeness to a kid. There's a lot of truth behind kids hiding behind the sofa at the sight of a Dalek. I was 11 yrs old when I first saw Logopolis. Tom Baker was my first Doctor. When he fell from that tower and regenerated I cried like a baby. Didn't know what had just happened. I'd seen Romana regenerate, but they executed that poorly for someone who didn't understand regeneration. With the help of a VCR and countless hours I managed the classics. When it came back in 2005 it was like being a kid again. It was brilliant. Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures were amazing fun. Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi were just brilliant, but the stories were going downhill. I'd never ever been offended by DW until we started getting pot shots at a former president. Clearly, it was done just because they could. I tried so hard to get into Whittaker. Orphan 55 is the last episode I watched before apathy kicked in full force. Since then I've only kept up via reviews like yours. Consider me subscribed (-:

It takes some doing to be a worse DR Who than Jodie Whittaker…but Ncuti Gatwa is doing it.
  • I was talking to somebody on Facebook about the same episode earlier today. He's from the UK and he told me that us foreigners need to get over it because the BBC states that any show created by the BBC is not meant for us anyway. Well after watching these last six episodes I'm okay with that. Because the vast majority of the fans of Doctor Who, and possibly other BBC shows as well, are foreigners. So if we all just stop watching the show's going to go off. Either that they'll get their shit together they start making decent episodes.

going to have to actually disagree with you on this episode. i've not really enjoyted a lot of the new stuff for a while with it generally going down hill. last night episode you can see what they were pushing but the tone of the episode and pacing meant both my wife and I had a bit of fun during this episode. i think compared to a lot of the recent stuff this is definately an improvement

So, Doctor Boo-hoo is now officially Doctor Yoo-hoo. I'll give it a miss.

A character calling himself 'Rogue' whom everyone fancies, is just hilariously bad. They might as well have called him Ace Rimmer. But more problematically, and demonstrating some massively piss-poor internal plot logic and just plain bad writing, if the Doctor could 'find him', then surely he could find his assistant too, had she been transported - especially with the assistance of his boyfriend - making the plot's supposedly anguished 'dilemma' nothing more than a minor inconvenience. So what was he crying for? Apart from of course, being a big pussy, not worthy as the main character of a TV show?

So the doctor will now give into emotions and relationship stuff!! That makes him weak! He’s suppose to be the Doctor!! Will this be the norm now?? Chasing men over saving lives!! He left his sidekick in danger???? and then cries about it later? Completely useless!! Ruby should have been pissed off

Is anyone really surprised that the gay actor playing a character written by a gay writer to do a gay kiss? It's like the planets all alined for it
  • @AmbrociousXP
During the infamous "Bi-Generation" event, the gay side of the doctor became the new doctor I suppose which I have no problem with BUT the story line needs MUCH MUCH MUCH work if you want to keep my attention. I used to LOVE Doctor Who so much. NOW it's nothing like it was.
  • @user-un9go4qe5i
The sound you can hear is EVERYONE who was involved with the creation of Doctor Who spinning in their graves. Yes, even the gay ones.
  • @chanceneck8072
Are we complaining about this? Because I'm not. I'm mighty fine. If we complain now, they're never gonna change it back again, let me tell!

I think did start movie The mysterious man who nobody knows who he is buddy plays like the Doctor both the guessing game and you eventually find out who he is and it's like oh my God he's the Doctor it will be more interesting that way. At end Then next movie is doctor call First one doctor John Smith Like 3 doctor Jon , said to Army guy, then he get his Memory back This was 1971
