Colours deceive me, I see only Grey …I think it’s a poetic way of saying his love and appreciation of living was lost when his son dies. There is no light in his life anymore.
  • the line about Born into Wadenas pride. Is refering to the town of Wadena Saskatchewan. Check out You are my sunshine. they make that song sound sad and melancholy. Im a big fan of these guys, im actually in the video for their Banjo Odessy song

I'm nine months late but here are some clarifications/answers to questions brought up in the reaction. The lines are: "I thought I had it all Then one day, I got the call A father's worst dream My son went down and I The colours deceive me As I see grey" *They relate to the other line where he said he "should've put that old gun away" The implication is that his gun was used to kill or was used in his son's su*c*de. There's nothing to do with the Civil War. The setting is Canada. The lyrics are: "In 1955, born into Wadena's pride I laid my head on that Milligan creek bed When I was a young man I helped build this land Oh, I put down these rails as a CPR man" *Wadena is a town in the province of Saskatchewan Canada (as someone else in the comments mentioned). Milligan Creek is south of Wadena. CPR stands for Canadian Pacific Railways. Another line is: "Well, that was a cold year in '77 But I married my wife We had two kids" *In 1977 they had a very cold year in that area. The reported lowest temperature that December was about 40 degrees BELOW zero (F).

I listen to heavy metal and the dead south. And this is my favorite song of all time ever
  • There are over 23,000 people in the fan club on Facebook! It’s the BEST group on Facebook!
  • Didn't mention that Nat and Coulton on the guitar and banjo last band was a heavy metal band. So combination of bluegrass, heavy metal and punk.

These are the Kings of our Prairies, in my mind’s eye. If you are just finding their catalogue, bring a lunch.

If I’m not wrong, The cello is a normal one. Normally and in other videos, he just uses the extension rod to the fullest length most of the time so he can switch quicker between picking and bow pieces.

It's really not that surprising to know they are from Saskatchawan.. It's very much like the American West there. They are far more like the US than Canada. Always has been. They were always part of the cattle drives from the western states and there has always been a cowboy culture there. You'd swear you are in Wyoming or Montana
  • Nothing to do with America or the Civil War. He talks about laying down rails and working for the CPR, racing cars and robbing trains.
  • It's a normal size cello. Nobody is playing the kick drum at all. It is just a piece of detritus in the room.
