Just checked Google and it told me a silly little thing: "Under the First Amendment, journalists covering protests have the same rights as other members of the public to observe, photograph, and record in public places." idfk what that's all about. anyone?

Goodness, I'm starting to think that the police aren't here for the protection of the people.

Most protesters couldn’t even locate gaza on a map

Being in California I was surprised there were police there at all.

Her name is Adelmi Ruiz. She wasn't arrested. She wasn't wearing anything that would have identified her as a reporter. They detained multiple people until they identified the 25 people they were actually after. Those people were arrested. The rest were released without charges.

Look at that place, thank goodness no straws were left laying around....

Our news teams need to do a better job of visually identifying as press, and speaking to law enforcement ahead of time about the fact that they will have reporters on scene and not to arrest them. This is just what happens here, people don’t really coordinate that well.

A major source of funding for SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) comes from the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), whose leaders were implicated by the U.S. government for financing the Gaza-ruling Palestinian terror group Hamas. There have been links between Hamas supporters and the leadership of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. The American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), a major supporter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is the campus arm of the American BDS movement.
