Hey! Let me know what you want to learn about the most, so that I can know what to spend the most time on for future videos! We all have a lot to learn and I can't wait to start improving with you all.

I bought this as my first fighting game solely based off the fact that the equivalent of Ness Pk Fire pissing off the entire community is a little girl on a dolphin.
  • @tallen3083
I like how the "futuristic" samurai is technically a century behind in the guilty gear lore.
  • @Vadu1337
Guilty Gear Strive is the first GG that I ever played, and I have to say: Oh boy is this game hard to learn.
  • @jaeva7276
Honestly, I think a basic guide for Sol and Ky is a must considering new players. But then I'd really love to see an Offense 101, Defense 101 and Neutral 101 like your DBFZ series, easily one of the best resources for learning DBFZ out there.

How can you tell us to not learn too much combos while you're styling on us with your Zato-1 in the background ? xD
  • @girl_socks
decided to pick up a "real" fighting game with guilty gear after playing smash for the last 10 years, and ooooh boy. I had played bits of kof here and there, but I'm actually trying to learn strive, and its kinda daunting, but I'm getting the hang of it, and I'm looking forward to getting better :)
  • Loved your dbfz content, please keep making guides, tips and tricks about this game because I really want to learn and put more time in
  • @doot1967
God bless you Rath, you were a lifesaver back in DBFZ and now in Strive. I really can’t exaggerate how valuable your content is for newcomers like me
  • I’m a melee player who watched Leffen host a tournament for this and it looked so sick that I wanted to understand it better. This is the best explanation I’ve seen. Thank you!!
  • @ShadowErus
just ran into this video by chance, but i gotta say, this is an absolutely fantastic video. all your explanations and super clear, and your tips are super helpful, bringing up some really important fundamentals for beginners without overcomplicating it. im not a complete newbie to fighting games (i've been practicing a few of the things you mentioned already), but i still really appreciate the polish you put into this

Out of all the fg channels on youtube, this is by far the best when it comes to guide content. Your vids are super easy to follow and understand.
  • Thanks for the video, can’t wait for some future guides. Going from Tekken 7 to Guilty Gear is like learning a new language. All these terms like meatys, Roman cancelling, bursts, projectiles, tension, R.I.S.C, etc; it’s alot to take in.

"Guilty Gear Strive just came out" Sad PC user noises...
  • @ultra_combo
This the type of content that got me as a new sub. Great material, just enough depth and structured in a logical way. Also your tone and pacing while talking is great, keep it up!!

Thank you for the awesome guide man! I've never invested a lot of time into a fighting game to get good. A couple of months ago I started with dbfz but got bored with learning combo after combo because I thought I needed that before playing matches. Thanks to your video I've learned that that is by far not the most important part which means getting one or two combos down is enough for the start. Also this game is a 1v1 which means less things I have to worry about when starting compared to dbfz. Thanks again for the video. Looking forward to guides on the rest of the game's mechanics that you didn't touch on here and some character specific guides.
  • @alecgarza1160
Awesome video! Not too simplified but also not too overly-detailed. Answered a lot of my questions.
  • @baikennep4489
Thank freaking god I found a video that actually beginner friendly. Many a times have I found fighting games or guilty gear beginner guides that talk as if the begginers already know what all of the jargons they use mean, as if we're expected to know a single thing about fighting games even though some of those videos claim to be guides for complete beginners on fighting games. It is highly frustrating and discouraging to see those videos, but at least yours was different and informative.
  • @hostvarious
Didn't even feel like I needed this guide, but love the way your videos are structured and carry such a chill vibe, had to watch it. Great fkkin work, can't wait for more STRIVE content from ya Rath
