Love your stories. My dad who is blind sits and listens to your stories and really enjoys them.

Hiking or camping alone and ignoring the weather is a good way to get in trouble. Throw a Dogman/Werewolf in there and it's a nightmare waiting to happen. Tip.. Always go into the forest well armed 😄
  • Lol I’m a Colorado native who lolove our great Rocky Mountains…crazy thing is BigFoot is known to enjoy our beautiful Rocky Mountains too! I’m lucky to have never personally ran into the hairy families but I do keep them in mind and definitely don’t go past my campground at night and never hike higher up where they’re known to have been spotted. They do leave huge signs of their territories and honestly I think it’s a respect thing to equally stay on our own sides. Prayers for everyone who visits and don’t understand or believe.
  • That story was riveting. The intense emotions Elizabeth felt are apparent through the story.

I camped near Durango once and an animal ran through my site - between the fire and my car - scared the heck out of me. It was so fast! It had to have been a coyote or wolf!
  • Never hike or camp alone if possible and always be armed with a 45 or large pistol or rifle. A forest is not to be taken for granted Both know and Unknown creatures live there. They have the home field advantage and the can see you miles in advance in clearing and by smell in canopy of the forest. BE SAFE GOOD VIDEO 😎

That was a incredible story & I was freaked out like she was/ of course/ unknown & I love this story!!! Thank u for sharing!!! 💯💯💯
  • That was a very captivating story. I know the fear she endured, but, definitely not the grueling, agonizingly long test of strength, endurance, and length of time under such miserable circumstances, and then the smell that accompanied this creature. Elizabeth would most definitely be the perfect guest on your show if you were ever inclined. Thank you for another excellent account.

Fall of 1983 I worked herding sheep in the San Juan Mts. between Ridgway and Telluride. I regularly didn't see another human for 5 days at a time. Myself, a horse, a dog , & 1100 sheep... it was pretty cool. Oh yeah & the predators. The bears, mountain lions, and coyotes were killing sheep regularly. Another time, must have been like 2010, I took 3 horses and my dog and went prospecting in the Uncompahgre Wilderness for 2 weeks, solo. A person has to take control of their mind when you go it alone, or you could really let your mind run wild. I believe that because of faith in GOD, that strong angels were my companions.

I don't think it's really safe anymore for a person to be hiking in the wilderness for days alone. I can remember when I was in my early 30s I did that in the Pacific Northwest but never again. Especially a woman. IMO.
  • I will never understand how ppl especially females want to go into the deep woods alone and isolated and with no protection. Or how they can feel so comfortable being days away from their vehicles if something were to go down and they needed to get out of there quickly.

The notion of going into the wild forest for the serenity and beauty of nature is a modern one. In the pre-modern era, people all over the world viewed the deep dark forests as places of danger. These places were the usual hiding places for outlaws, bandits, and miscreants of all kinds. But also our ancestors populated these places with scary supernatural creatures. Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, had the vampire hailing from Transylvania which is a name derived from the Latin words "trans" = across, and "sylvania" = forest/wppds. He was playing on the old fears his readers still had even in 1897. My point is that even today, the wilderness areas should still require caution because it still can be places for criminals to lurk and this is not theory but fact. There have been 2 known cases of serial killers preying on visitors to national parks: Cary Stayner (the Yosemite serial killer) convicted of 4 known murders, Gary Hilton (a.k.a. the National Parks Serial Killer) convicted of 4 known murders and suspected in another 4 killings. For every serial killer that is caught, you have to wonder how many have not been caught and are still out there.

I listen to the stories every day all day and I very rarely get scared I mean truly scared and this story scared me. Totally freaked me out

Why would the park rangers let her leave with a bleeding head, and not at least do some 1st aid let alone send her to a doctor?? I mean if you have the side of your head bleeding you probably shouldn't be driving...
  • Hoots, the rank smell, apelike build, throwing rocks, following her, but not killing her, etc. made me think -- Sasquatch. However, a wolf/dog like face threw me off because that sounds like Dogman. Weird.
  • @Ms.Andrist
Why anyone (esp women) don't take guns with them when hiking or camping is beyond me.
  • Ok.. this girl not setting up her tent FIRST is bs. You always get camp ready before you do anything else. If this story is true, she is her own worst enemy and should stay out of the woods.
