My grandpa loves this song. He won’t be here with us much longer. By the time anyone reads this, he will be gone. He will live on in my heart.

My grandfather passed away six months ago. He was a musician. He did covers of various rock songs, including Knocking On Heaven's Door. During the last year of his life, he was hospitalized. He had an infection, that led to him having to have his legs amputated. He died of a heart attack shortly after the surgery. His cover of Knocking On Heaven's Door was played at his funeral. I recently rediscovered this song and it instantly reminded me of him. RIP grandpa, you'll stay in my heart forever. 🕊
