First off, this whole production quality is better than anything on TV, scene cut away, attention to detail and actual advise instead of glorified sales of the aftermarket stuff. Feels like I’m a kid watching the truck shows on Saturday mornings 😂. Did anyone else try the upgrade? How’s it feel

Matt’s out here making us all decide to spend money on our old SUVs. Great video.
-
Holy crap Matt. You are the Tahoe guru! If I lived closer I’d be trying to hire your ass to fix mine up! Love the video. I know it takes ATON of extra effort to not only do the work itself , but to stage , film, and edit. Thank you ! It’s much appreciated!

Limit straps for the rear would solve your issue of things breaking in the rear.

I completely agree with the “Permatex” brand anti-seize on the aluminum body for adjustment but, the Torrington bearing will suffer less unless using a High Temp PTFE brake grease from ACDelco, simply because it is clear and not blue! The anti-seize compound has metals of copper, aluminum or zinc in high temp applications. For a bearing, just plain grease is best. Use wheel bearing grease if needed, the adjusting nut needs an anti-seize for galvanic action of dissimilar metals so it can be adjusted or serviced. DK. ASE Master Tech since 78, retired.

For this coilover conversion, can you do a quick video with your thoughts and info about the performance and pros/cons after a year on the road? Maybe even just a detailed follow-up commentary in this comment feed? Would really like to know

"It's a tahoe again" had me rolling 🤣

Wow Matt, by far the best “to do” video I’ve ever seen on YouTube. You’re clear about everything, especially the small details we will need doing this. But also, you’re not robotic or trying to act like a movie star when you speaking. I feel like I’m hanging out with my brother again working on a car.

Me at the beginning of video: I'll never need all that Me at the end:damn it I need that now...

Richard’s awesome man, I’m extremely happy with his cool mounts and he’s so so helpful, atomic fab is amazing. Thanks again Richard.
-
Need to make a video of the dual battery setup for when you run off-road lights.
-
I’d love to see a final tour of Tahiti and a cost break down of the mods that you did. Like how much you paid for the car and how much the mods cost and a total build cost

just a quick tip, you use a brass punch and hammer to tighten the lock ring up on coilovers. Spanners alone dont quite get it tight enough. Can vibrate loose after a while. That extra shock from hammering them help them to bite into the adjustment ring and lock it in place. Loving the build so far though. Been tossing around the idea of either SAS or coilover swap my 03 2500HD.

This was super helpful, I want to make my yukon sound like a vet, so this covers 2 bases. It gets rid of the torsion bs (which would be in the way of the exhaust) and much better suspension! Thank you!
-
I've been thinking about doing this on my 03 z71. There's a few videos on YT of guys doing this but nothing near as detailed as yours. Thanks so much Matt for this series!

Great work man. You pursue great quality projects.

A good up grade for the Tahoe would be to replace the gear shifter from a newer(06-07) HD truck for a more modern interior look
-
I’ve wanted to delete the torsion bars on my 02 avalanche for so long! Excellent video for showing how it’s done and which way to go
-
Nice work an congratulations on the new setup.Respect !!!

Monster Garage came back for a few episodes this year. Also love the content Matt!
