Following the recent ruling by Olympic officials that the gymnast’s score change happened 4 seconds after the one-minute deadline, resulting in her score being reversed, the committee now shares that her medal will now be reallocated to the Romanian gymnast, Ana Barbosu.

Since the judges were the only ones who messed up, my personal opinion is that both athletes should get bronze AND an apology from the judges and Olympics committee. The judges hurt two people who were just there to do their best with their mix up, and the fallout is not helping.

WHY DID THEY ACCEPT IT... IF IT WAS AFTER 4 SECONDS!!!
  • The judges should be stripped of their positions/salary…this is horrible for both countries.

They could give them both medals. It was the judges fault. It is unacceptable.

Coaches and judges are out here having Jordan Chiles looking crazy. Got her messed up because they didn't follow their own rules.

I am Romanian, but this thing was unfair to all. Actually the fair thing would have been for her and the other Romanian gymnast Sabrina Voinea to be third together, because they also deducted her points for going out of the carpet, which didn't actually happen. But she also put her inquiry in too late for this.

Poor girl! That’s gotta be a sucky and humiliating feeling! I’m sorry Jordan! A prize doesn’t define all of your hard work! You will always be our Champion girl! ❤❤❤

Korea needs to give Roy Jones Jr the gold medal that he deserve.

i am romanian, i am upset by the fact that both ana and jordan had to go through this, i feel for both, happy for ana but sad for jordan i cannot lie, furthermore no hating on this but Sabrina was also robbed with the decision that she was deducted points crutial for her 3rd place as she went outside the box but clearly did not, unfortunally the appeal was denied, The judges made huge mistakes, and tbh the whole paris olympic thing was a desaster and a shameful organised event. with people getting sick, no fair judges , shameful last supper etc etc... it was crazy. again my heart goes out to jordan , even if im happy for ana

The US should refuse placement of EVERY ONE of those judges for any role in the 2028 Olympics. Whatsoever.
  • @FreebieKitty
Just give a bronze medal to Chiles, and the 2 other Romania gynamastics. The judges are the ones that MESSED UP! Take accountability for your actions.

Sad for all involved 😞💔💔💔it puts a sour note on the whole competition.

Give them both the bronze medal and fire the judges. Love you Jordan🥰

I can’t even watch the Olympics anymore without my heart breaking for these talented girls. First Beijing 2022, now Paris 2024. Wow
  • They now have evidence that Cecile did get the inquiry in on time. That did put in for an appeal. Justice for Jordan!!!

It shouldn't be on the players to correct the judges' mistakes. As painful as it was for the Romanian Gymnast to have the win revoked, what does receiving a medal she knows she didn't earn prove? It'll never be a justified win. She'll always have an asterisk and know, as the rest of us do, that she didn't measure up. Is that not more embarrassing?😬 Maybe with the medal in her possession she'll just pretend she's one of the best. This is a blemish on the entire Olympic Federation, and just another reason why the French games will go down in history as one of the worst. Such a shameful system.
  • The situation is even more complicated. The judges incorrectly scored another Romanian gymnast, wrongly deducting points for stepping out of bounds (which they omitted to when reviewing video evidence). This error placed her in fourth. Romania tried to appeal, but it was too late. During this process, it was also found that Jordan's coach missed the 1-minute window to petition. The correct scoring would have placed the Romanian gymnast in 3rd (initially placed 4th), Jordan in 4th (initially placed 5th), and Ana in 5th (initially placed 3rd). I'm angry on behalf of all three of these women. I'm so sorry. Take strength in knowing your performances inspired many. Be proud of your excellence.
