The best part of this video is still Misa's smile when she spins around to watch Kanami's play her response. A smile out Misa is about rare as getting word out her.
  • From Now On, one of the 4 instrumentals they have out of over 130+ songs, will melt your face
  • @mikeholmes5308
They have three songs entirely in English at this point, including their latest music video for Bestie, which was a collaboration with Mike Eizinger of Incubus. Their English isn't great, but most fans find the mispronunciations and bad grammar to be really endearing and even interesting compositionally. Great reaction, guys, I hope to see you do more reactions to the band. You'll get a lot of recommendations to the most popular videos (Domination, Don't You Tell ME, Choose Me, Blooming, etc) but you can dive deep into their immense catalogue of nearly 130 songs from over a decade together, and find that their songs are remarkably consistent in their excellent quality. Don't be afraid to try anything, the fans (we Madiacs) will come to hear whatever song you play from them. Another successful capture for Roger Chance! Roger, Roger, Roger! Making Madiacs out of the entire internet, one reaction channel at a time!

Brothers! I am an old Metal head like you two. You have just discovered the greatest Hard Rock band of the 21st century. Keep reacting, you will not regret it. Band-Maid has been around 11 years and have 160+ song catalog. Some I love, but they have never done a bad song. They are, by far, the best live band I have ever heard. I envy your just discovering them now. Enjoy the Pigeon hole.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid cafƩ concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

This may THE best damned hard rock band you have discovered in your lives. Keep reacting to their videos and you will find a huge and varied fan base. We call ourselves Maidiacs and we are legion. If you look at the number of subscribers to their YouTube channel and see how many views their videos get worldwide (not just Japan), you will see what I'm talking about. Also, they are one of the best live rock bands you will ever see.

I consider Hate as an average, for Band Maid, song. Relatively simple and straight forward. The bass/guitar segment turns it into a top tier performance. Band Maid self identifies as a hard rock band, but ranges all over the rock spectrum. A 2 songs in 1 video, Manners/Black Hole gives a taste of that.
  • An impossibly hard rocking maid band! Yeah, that pretty much sums it up! Welcome to the era of BAND-MAID! šŸ–¤
  • Band Maid: MIKU (mee-koo) Rhythm guitar, backing vocals, writes the lyrics, band founder. There is no Band Maid without her. KANAMI (kah-nah-mee) Lead guitar, writes and arranges all the music. She is a riff making machine. MISA (mee-sah) Bass. Sheā€™s special and the band knows it. She is highly featured often. Nickname: the barefoot assassin. AKANE (ah-kah-neh) Drums. You can set your watch to her incredibly consistent driving beat. Happiest drummer on the planet. Nickname: Gorilla. SAIKI (sigh-kee) Lead vocals and ā€œFront manā€. Great vocalist. She has that ability to command the room. Sheā€™s the Team Mom.
  • @tonygriffin_
THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. Also in any parallel ones.
  • They first played this extended version of Hate? at Lollapalooza but what is missing is that they play Dice before it and transition into this with a link by Akane (drums) so you get around 9 minutes of non stop goodness. They create a rod for their own back sometimes by adding extra goodies to songs live (various intros and added guitar and bass duels etc) and then everyone wants to hear those versions every time. However with a repertoire of around 120 songs and their philosophy of making every single gig different by never playing the same set twice it means that Saiki (vocals), who determines the set lists, has a mammoth task on her hands. In 2023 over 70 different songs were featured in their sets, whatever is in any given set is always brilliant because there is no mediocre Band Maid song.
  • @roygillotti4615
Band-Maid is such a great live band, they genuinely love to play for a crowd, I feel most shows I've seen lately with big name bands just want to get through their set and be done with it.
  • @VegetaRabbit
Thanks for checking them out. They play a wide range of rock from punk to progressive. They play hard enough to play at Knotfest but they also do acoustic concerts.
  • @elliott8339
Thanks for the reaction and comments. A huge shoutouts to RC for spreading the good word and VC for uploading his amazing fancam recordings on YouTube. These ladies are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. Keep checking out any one of their official live videosā€¦be it Domination, Play, Moratorium, Freedom, Onset, No Godā€¦the list goes on and on. About 5 songs in, youā€™ll have exhausted all known superlatives. But donā€™t take my word for it, see for yourselves. Until next timeā€¦Cheers!

Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: ā€¢Bass solos are more likely to happen than not. There's a bass solo in their first video! ā€¢Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be ā€¢Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. ā€¢Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! ā€¢You like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that. ā€¢April Fools Day 2019 As a joke they recorded a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments and with lyrics in a Kyoto dialect. MV is stunningly beautiful. ā€¢The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The Mighty Miku Kobato founder/original lead singer steps back to make way for a new more hard rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the time gets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis. ā€¢10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that. ā€¢More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. ā€¢Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. ā€¢Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. ā€¢As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. ā€¢Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. ā€¢They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. ā€¢Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
