    Light thinking: He didn’t just try to use that trick on me, did he? That’s absurd! I would never fall into a trap like that. But then again … maybe he’s anticipating that I would dodge his simple trap. Maybe he’s actually screening for a cautious response! Like I would slip up so easily. All I need to think about is “What would Light do”, the honours student? I could play innocent and just ask ‘what?’, he can’t deduce I’m Kira from word play, and this gives me the opportunity to openly question his interrogation technique … but would that be too obvious? No, that’s ridiculous … all I need to do is stay relaxed and act innocent. So long as they don’t find the death note, they can’t possibly-
