Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is putting in early work to win over voters before the next federal election, even though it could come as late as October 2025.

Poilievre’s efforts include campaign-style visits to evangelical Christian churches in Liberal ridings.

As David Akin explains, while evangelicals don't play as active a role in politics in Canada compared to the U.S., the Tories are courting their votes.

  • Weird how Justin visits mosques and synagogues all the time but when Pierre visits churches it's suddenly a "toxic" problem that needs to be analyzed by some talking head Karen.

This is terrible reporting global. Absolutely terrible
  • @W4SH
Why are you trying to make Christianity a bad thing?
  • Somehow Christians are the only religious group not allowed to get involved in politics, despite being the largest religious group in Canada and the one most targeted by political violence (the 100+ churches attacked by arsonists, which Trudeau somehow never mentions in his endless speeches about islamophobia and anti-semitism).
  • @goodNews-99
Poilievre does not have to seek out Christians, they are drawn to his policies and message

I'm glad you made this video, it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home,, $75k biweekly and a good daughter full of love ❤️
  • @arthurgay5746
I'm pretty sure that Pierre wants ALL Canadian voters to stand with him. Not just one demographic !!!
  • @Some826
Tmr Truduh will be visiting a mosque then a Church . Peirre will visit a mosque next week. They both do that every year. I’m shocked at the comments against Christian’s
  • @MsSgerg
I mean come on. He has been to all kinds of places of worship for all kinds of cultures and faith. This a ridiculous short video to post without talking about his other trips.
  • @StanClarke
Not sure why there's an issue with this to be honest. Poilievre did nothing wrong, if anything I respect him for doing this

4 seconds in and I hear Akin's voice and suddenly the absurd clip title and story premise make perfect sense. Waiting for the indepth, investigative reporting into Liberals courting Sikh voters, particularly in a certain BC riding, while the Canadian military was trying to get Canadians or those directly supporting Canadians (translators, informants, etc.) out of Afghanistan but were 'reprioritized' by a certain minister.
  • A large part of his leadership campaign was appealing to the various religious groups. To point out Christians, when he's has been selling his ideas to other faiths as well, is extremely disingenuous. But what can you expect from a hack like David Akin.
  • @Nomatternow
Give him orange hair. There is no hate like “Christian” love.
  • So, a different tactic than dressing in a Sari and Turban and painting your face black, same basic strategy, but different tactics...
  • @bjorn____
When politicians visit mosques, temples or recognize these religions or communities it's respected. Why is it that Canadians have a problem when Christians are recognized and treated with the same respect? Global once again your bias is showing, and that's very pitiful.
  • @GTR1266
This report was mildly bigoted. Global news can do better.
  • It's no different when Trudeau campaign in mosques, synagogues, gurdwaras, and other places of worship. What's the big deal? As a politician, you need to seek out your crowd.
  • Wow. Such bias in this reporting. You can feel the cynicism like a sharp knife!
