I've been living in Thailand for a year and a half now. In my opinion, the health-care , food, infrastructure and lower cost of rentals wins out over the Philippines. The visas, language, woman, and driving on the right go to the Philippines.
  • Being currently married to a Filipina for 7 years and before that to a Thai, I have spent long time in both places. I agree with most of you comparisons, especially on the food matter. Regarding pricing, I´d say that most things are a bit cheaper in the Philippines except hotels and housing. I would also say that in general, in my opinion, the family oriented values of a Filipina, when it comes to taking care of husband and children is way higher in the Philippines.

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and recently moved to the Philippines. Although philippines is growing on me...the main things better here are immigration, language, and the women. All of which are important to me.
  • G'day from Australia. I've travelled through Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines. I've also visited Cambodia and Indonesia. There's different pros and cons for all countries. Personally if I was told, you've won $1 million dollars but you have to live in Thailand or The Philippines, I'd die happy. Just remember tourist areas are not the actual country and the women you find in bar areas are not the real women of that country.

The only thing Thailand beats the Philippine is food, other than that the Philippine hands down from the people to the lifestyle. BTW I’m an American who has lived in Thailand for 3 yrs and 6 months on PP.

I love to see the love you have for each other. Honestly it's refreshing. I've been happily married for 45 years and I too have a very rich in love marriage. I'm so happy for you both. ❤
  • I have visited Thailand ten years ago and loved it but the language barrier drove me nuts. The food was fantastic in Thailand and more choices. I now live in the Philippines and it is great also. I think that the visa process and restrictions in Thailand are much more difficult than they are here in the Philippines. Either place is impossible for foreigners to own land but owning condominiums is equal in either country. I think vacations to Thailand is a great way to go. Plus it leaves you with options to travel and vacation in other countries in Asia. Philippines is a great home base for that.

Mabuhay. In my own experience , as a filipino working in Thailand for the total years of 6 . I would say Thailand is way better.
  • I do want to go on trips to Thailand from the Philippines. I enjoy the mostly English speaking of the Philippines
  • @adamsty1728
Perfect timing! I was actually considering Thailand instead of the PI and this helped immensely!👍🏻 LANGUAGE is the dealbreaker, and a kajillion more foreigners doesn’t sound that appealing either…😜😂

We just went 2 siargao for 7 days and the food there was incredible and driving was great! Definitely the best phillipine experience ive had! Great surf, wakeboarding, going to thailand in july

Single and looking to party have fun then Thailand. If you’re wanting a relationship, slower pace life, and family cohesion, Philippines …..it is cheaper in Thailand and their food and medical has a upper hand. But the language and VA facility for vets is huge plus in the Philippines. I found the variety of beaches better in the Philippines for me. I noticed too if your wife is a nurse in the Philippines their education is recognized and a bit easier for them to transition to US or any other western country just by taking their NCLEX
  • I have lived in the Philippines 12 years, wife 4 kids. When I was single I lived in Pattaya for 3 years. But I totally get why you guys love Thailand. You the only PI Tube I watch. You guys are funny and real. Cheers from Valencia!

I think if they enforced the traffic laws in the Philippines it would be much better. Some cities seem to have no traffic laws at all. There are some cities in the Philippines that do enforce the traffic laws and have actual traffic lights, driving there seems much better. Note, they are building more modern highways in some areas of the Philippines and it should relieve some traffic concerns in those areas. Plus they're building more modern homes and businesses in those same areas. Good luck Philippines 🇵🇭

Very nice summary overall. Having lived in both the Philippines and Thailand, I tend to agree with you 100%. The Philippines wins!
  • BUT...its more fun in The philippines...The People in The philippines are so Nice...I been working in Thailand...nerver more...!!!
  • @utubewillyman
There's something more exotic about Thailand. You really feel like you're in a foreign country. The Philippines has a closer connection to Western culture (specifically USA and Spain), so things feel more familiar and comfortable, which is desirable in itself. But you don't get that "foreign" feeling like you do in Thailand.

As a viewer of yours that have been doing what you are currently doing for nearly 18yrs. My Filipina wife and our 2 sons lived in the Philippines for approximately 7 years (full time) but we constantly found ourselves going to Thailand, Vietnam and were considering possibly moving there to find a more balanced lifestyle. Food, language, cost of living, medical, infrastructure, safety, and education for our children, just overall better for raising our family - were high on our list. We ended up selecting Japan. We ended up buying a beautiful home on nearly 20k sq meters (about 5 acres US) which we grow a lot of our own food and raise farm animals. It was extremely cheap to buy the property as it had been abandoned for nearly 10 years - we put about $30k and modernized / westernized the home (1 master bedroom with ensuite full bathroom, 3 bedroom, large kitchen + Dining great room, 2 office that can be converted in guestrooms, a large family room, single story with a large workshop garage fully covered and enclosed approximately 6,000 sq ft. Plus 2 large warehouses for our farm equipment. This is our main living residence. We spend approximately 70% of our time here and split up the other 30% between the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Sometimes we go to Korea or Singapore to mix it up a bit.
  • Never been to any of the two, but I been to many Asia countries. Till three years ago I am following both countries and looking which is best if I decide to stay six months in a year as my second home. If I have to choose between the two it Will be Philippines. The reason it get me on the three main thing I am looking for. People, language, hospitality. Thailand is great but look artificial for me Philippines mighty be choatic but natural.
