Councils in England could be forced to build on low-quality green belt sites to meet mandatory targets as part of a government shake-up of planning rules. Under the new regime all local authorities will have a duty to deliver more homes, and unless they produce a clear plan for how this will happen, ministers could step in and take over the process.

Can the RNLI cope with this demand?
-
All for foreign criminals, none for hard working British contributors.
-
Labour make more house for illegal immigration. Not for the poor or working classes or our homeless .
-
Kid's are dying in hospital and they are worried about building houses for migrants 😤
-
This woman is disgusting, there are so many people living in this country now and more are coming every day. We will never be able to build enough houses!
-
More houses for immigrants, not the UK homeless
-
Eat up more of the country's greenbelt.
-
10 MILLION POUNDS SPENT PER DAY ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, BUT LABOUR IS CUTTING WINTER BENEFITS FOR SENIORS 😐
-
Don’t forget the escalator from the beach up the cliffs to the new houses, the ones our pensioners are now going to be paying for.
-
If you stopped importing a million immigrants a year you wouldnt need to build so many houses.
-
Hope these houses come with a parking space for a boat
-
But not for the people of this country but illegal immigrants
-
Water, roads, sewage oh and more importantly who's going to be given these houses?
-
nothing but BS coming out of her mouth
-
Country first, you mean putting immigrants first as always
-
There is no consideration about building houses where there is work, so they're not for British working families. The building goes against achieving Labour's ridiculous "net zero" goal, which is conveniently forgotten. It's a complete sham.
-
Whats Rayner talking about putting people and country first!!!, what a load of lies, theyve just sacked the pensioners
-
Are they paying for it no
-
What people are they putting first? Probably all the immigrants, legal and illegal, plus their extended families while the poor, homeless or those stuck in rented rooms, sometimes slums, are left to get on with it.
-
And more Hotels. More immigrants in this country than flies.
