What foods do you avoid if they are canned?
  • In the late 1970's I was given 2 cans of B&M canned bread when I was with the Canadian Armed Forces.. I placed them in my flight bag . They were in the bag which was placed in storaged when I went to Germany in 1979. When I returned to Canada in 1990, I retrieved the bag with the cans still in it. I opened one - it was still moist and tasted fresh. I stll have the other one.
  • Your video was very informative, I do have all the items, but not enough in storage because I was concerned about expiry dates. Thanks for the information on the shelf life of those goods.

I buy the canned meats such as hams, spam, corned beef etc., as it serves as a small side. I watch the sodium though. If we use corned beef, nothing else can have salt in it.
  • As cans are made out of aluminum, I prefer to buy these items in glass jars or even plastic ones. I've read & heard enough about how aluminum can be a contributing factor to dementia.

I love SPAM! It’s the best. For real, fried spam in a skillet with some Kim, rice, and eggs…breakfast of champions.

Why is everyone so scared of salt?! I used to be and now I use it on everything! The good pink salt, though! It's sugar that's the disease culprit! I get lower-sodium things and add my own good salt to taste!

I would have bought tuna last Saturday, but a) it was all in pouches, not cans b) it was all heavily seasoned c) it was packed in water, not olive oil. Under those circumstances, despite being on sale, it was a false economy. Anyone for Gulf grouper?:)
  • I have an Irish neighbor. Suddenly, I started playing french accordion music on YouTube loud. I didn't know French and Irish are enemies.
