The Domestic Staff who laid on all these beautiful little details for you are the real heroes and heroines of the hotel......oh and the people who cook your food! x

That cloth on the back of the headboard is an antimacassar which people put on the back of anywhere people’s heads rest. It goes back to the days when men used to grease their hair, saves the furniture from being stained. My dear late Mummy had them on the back of all the chairs at home. We had doilies on all serving plates, coasters in saucers and lace tablecloths on all tables too. My parents, especially Mummy, certainly knew the best, even though we lived in a council house! ☺️

I definitely wouldn't describe that pool as basic it's absolutely gorgeous!

Even after the refurb Claridge's still has it! You can't buy style, chic or savoire faire and Claridge's was born with it.

Claridge’s is not an ordinary hotel. It caters to the very affluent. When it comes to providing high-end hospitality, the staff is expected to be professional rather than friendly. Therefore, they maintain politeness without trying to ingratiate themselves by being overly accommodating.

“All you do is select the floor you want” Yeh that’s how lifts tend to work Tim 😂

I am an interior designer, and I have to admit i am very critical, because this is what i do. This hotel would meet my expectations. Your videos are very helpful, I loved the immaculate condition, the contemporary streamline moderne interior, the many details. Its at the highest standards. Loved the glamorous main hotel bar.

Blows away the Ritz. You feel the Luxury. Beautiful Room. Nice touches everywhere.
  • @birdmanmarbella
I prefer the décor here rather than that at The Savoy or The Ritz.

Sees the Madeleine’s on the table - “Oooh Complimentary medallions” 😂😂

There's something about art deco that is so 'thoroughly modern ' yet bespoke quality at the same time. My preferences for interior design is warm contemporary- so that's natural materials- wood, stone and perhaps wrought iron blended with uplighting, rugs and spot lights. HOWEVER, if I was starting all over again, I would definitely consider quality art deco as a design choice having seen Claridges. What a thoroughly BEAUTIFUL hotel this is. Once again, thanks Tim. Really enjoyed your vid. Best wishes, Stu.

Now this is more like it, I love the way it’s art deco but modern, they kept all the original detail but sympathetically modernised, also looked warm and welcoming, something other hotel you have stayed in don’t manage to do.. yeah I’m impressed
  • The 1925 style of the hotel is called 'Art Déco'. Art Déco was the name of the 1925 Art Décoratifs Show in Paris. It was inspired by the then-upcoming luxury cruisers and the hotel's colours also reflect that era: beige, black, white. Many things resemble the 'cruiser' style, up to the majestic bed.

Tim, I love your videos. Do you think you could possibly brush up on antique furniture? Because you’re absolutely killing me with all the snotty comments about this unbelievably gorgeous antique furniture. Most of everything you’ve pointed out is worth more than my whole life!
  • @egeegee7146
I am so glad that they didn't know about mattress wrappers! With the level of housekeeping in this hotel you'd be lucky to find a spec of dust. I think I'll book my stay.
  • One of the finest hotels anywhere. I used to work just around the corner from it and we often went there for breakfast meetings and lunches. No need to worry about the cleanliness of the bed either, absolutely everything in the entire building is perfectly clean at all times. Attention to detail is everything at Claridge's and everything they do is to perfection.
  • Stunning. If I could stay at one luxury London hotel it would be Claridges.
  • The old furniture in the corridors are period pieces as it still reflects time from 1856 when it was built. . The bed and a lot of your room furniture is Art Decor. It's an Art decor landmark. The swimming pool wasn't basic but classic. In keeping with the serenity of a posh spa

Enjoy the videos but some of the commentary so wrong! Dirty mirror in the lobby! It’s not dirty, it’s antique glass! The medallions aren’t medallions, they are Madeleines, a French cake/pastry
