A subscription based, $2500 mattress cover is the last thing anyone needs. Some sponsors should just be told to go pound sand.

Respect to donut for giving the new company props and now doing this to make sure people don’t just assume the worst from the first video. A classy move they didn’t have to do.

Maybe it's not a perfect car yet, but the way they reacted to the feedback they were given the first time around gives me hope for what VinFast can be.

To be fair, Vinfast has a lot of potential to improve and grow. They did an excellent job in manufacturing gasoline cars for the Vietnamese market and have a pretty good reputation. Even some Vinfast was in the VIP motorcade when Joe Biden visited Vietnam last year. But in my opinion, the 53k$ price tag is a bit too much for the American market. 45k$ is the best suited price range for the VF8. But there are some reasons for the high prices. Taxes, import fee for some high tech stuff, shipping from Vietnam to the US,.....But i think when Vinfast comes into serial production in the North Carolina factory then the price will be reduced for the US market consumers. Still, respect for Vinfast🇻🇳🇻🇳

I have to give them major props 4 responding with solutions.

To be fair, for a five year old company it’s really impressive that they were able to fix most of the problems of the first car in that short amount of time.

I owned an ID 4 2022 (I like it!) and just test drove a VF9 of my friend in early Feb 2024. I'd say they're pretty good (like 8/10 and better than my expectation) and my friend said they will keep improving/updating as that's their mentality. Maybe wait for a few years to purchase if you're not in hurry

My mates and I were just talking about how most industries are following the modern gaming route: - Get a product out as early as possible to please investors - The 'early adopters' become guinea pigs - Updates are rolled out as the product get's ironed out This is the modern world of everything being online and competition being fiercer than ever. Most people should really avoid the earliest releases of tech and wait for positive reports or significant patches.

The most important question is whether or not this unit was made for press. Press units vs off-the-lot units are often wildly different. It's why Consumer Reports doesn't use press units. They buy from dealerships.

I own a Vinfast VF9 in Vietnam now. I'm happy with the improvements of Vinfast in the update of software and replace the error equipment in the car. The price to buy a car in Vietnam is not cheap, but we are willing to give them a chance to serve us. Most Vinfast VF9's owners are happy with our choice.

Just came from a trip to Ho Chih Minh, VN a few weeks ago. Can confirm, this brand is everywhere there.

Plot twist: Vinfast forgot to do consumer testing so they're just making changes and sending it to donut on a monthly basis

Honestly it's nice to see how fast they responded to this. I have a good friend who used to work chassis division for various companies, this was his usual process... They would actually purchase 2 or more vehicles that they wanted their car to be like. They would reverse engineer the things they loved about the vehicle they purchased. IDK what the VINFAST's process is, but it seems like they're starting from the ground-up. I'd recommend to VINFAST that they try reverse-engineering cars that they'd like to compare to. NOT to a point of ripping it off, but to see why their ride feels so much more different... Sometimes it's something as dumb as just a different supplier for suspension parts. Keep it up Vinfast. It's not an easy market to break into.

I respect the hell out of them taking in the feedback and trying to do their best to fix it
  • @user-gw6ps9rv7r
As a start up company, Vinfast listened to your reviews and worked seriously (in a short time) to fix almost errors. If they can make a totally new car (and they are building a factory in North Carolina and want to sell cars globally), I trust they will continuously improve it. Look at the first generations of Tesla and Cybertruck now, there are still many problems to be fixed. Hope you guys can make the 3rd video to check the model of 2024/2025. I respect Vinfast's ambition and determination (a company from a war-torn country in the past) to enter high demanding markets like US and I wish them big success!
  • When Jerry said he is getting old in the ad i thought he was leaving Donut. I almost had a heart attack.

Honestly respect to Vinfast for taking in the feedback and responding with solutions

I’ve watched the blindspot section like 3 times and it almost looks like the blind spot monitor- monitors ONLY the blind spot. It seemingly doesn’t light up if the vehicle is within sight of the mirrors or looking without turning back. Saving you from having to turn all the way to check the blind spot but not spanning the entire side of vehicle. Excited to see how many of these make to the roads of the Midwest.

9:04 it's actually an image of a VF7, which is available for Vietnam market recently. Since it has a mostly similar engine, platform, suspension to VF8 and a smaller size, a lighter body; the driving experience and performance seems to be improved. Will be an interesting comparison to the model Y then.
