The crazy part is even before gear 5 luffy was hurting kaido bad. Then kaido went on to fight like a group of people and more. Then went to fight gear 5 and still give him a tough time. Kaido is an absolute beast man.

When Kaido said a devil fruit can’t conquer the world, only haki can, I felt like it was a foreshadowing of the battle bound to happen with Blackbeard. Blackbeard’s crew is always hunting devil fruits and that’s their primary focus. If Luffy and his crew can develop their haki, then I see it as a win in the end. Look at the Red Hair Pirates. Shanks is arguably the most powerful Haki user. No devil fruit. I just find it interesting that it was said here by Kaido even though he relies on his devil fruit as much as his haki.

The impact frames at 1:15 when he grabs the lightning from the cloud are so cool, I always love to see them in the newer one piece and the creativity the animators have

So obviously Kaido has been taking a lot of damage at this point in the battle, but it’s amazing how Luffy drew blood from punching Kaido in that lightening launch attack. Imagine any other below-yonko character being caught in the middle of that lightning speed barrage
