  • I never regret purchasing: High-quality (no elastic) denim. I'm obsessed with good denim that's hard to put on initially and then forms to fit your body as you wear it. I also never regret purchasing natural fiber knitwear. I have way more sweaters than the average person, I think. But I wear sweaters all year round, so I never regret it. Even if it's unusual.
  • This video came at the right timing because a few days ago I just realized the similarity between my favorite wide-leg trousers from COS with the pair that I used to own from UNIQLO (but ended up giving away because they didn't fit me anymore). I guess in the barrage of all trendy items and aesthetics, it's useful to look back to what we wore 10 or 5 years ago before we weren't so in tune or obsessed with fashion just to remind ourselves of what our "baseline" is. I get that personal style is never a constant but I guess these favorite pieces or silhouette definitely help as an anchor so we don't get too lost.
  • Hi, this was really enjoyable, and I also started knitting and I wonder if you would feel comfortable to show us your own knits. I would love to see them also. Thank you

This was so great! You inspire me to add more colored bags to my collection!
  • A very good video makes me think. I always liked to dress well, but was doing that randomly. I started paying attention to style during Covid lock down as I had a lot of time on hand . I found a few YouTube channels where the ladies teach how to find personal styles. I finally figured out what type of clothes I truly like and suit me. I started to identify which items are my staples. Mine are a few fit and flare knit dresses , linen shorts, ankle length high waisted straight leg jeans , fitted thin sweatersā€¦

thanks for your perspective on basic tshirts. They don't have to be basic but ones that have lovely details can become my basics. Also your tips regarding necklines and shoulder fit, these are such a great guidelines for me. I feel like I am 80% there with what suits me and your tips enable me to hone it down even more. Amazing how narrowing my focus can be liberating and lots of fun.

You're so lucky that you can totally lean into your warm colours and enjoy them and they suit you and your style beautifully. For me warm is too warm, and cool is too cool most of the time.
  • Iā€™ve always loved your videos, they are so informative and inspiring. although your style is so different from mine, I still like to watch your videos. And now I think I found out why I still watch your videos even when itā€™s nit my style. I love that your pieces in here arenā€™t basics, like a simple white tee and thatā€™s exactly how I view basics, my kind of basics.

This (and all your videos I have seen so far) have been so helpful! I am so lost with my style and hesitant to buy any new clothes in case it's the wrong style for me and I end up not liking it in a few months, so this video was exactly what I needed! And I love your video style, it's so informative and easy to watch! :)

Comfortable trousers and ankle boots. I've had leather ankle boots since I was at school and bought my first high-top Converse at university (and wondered why it took me so long to get them!). I wear Converse high-tops pretty much year round, if it's not too cold in winter, and bought a pair of Thursday boots - the Captain - after seeing them styled by a couple of different YouTubers and realising they would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. And I wear them All. The. Time. It was a purchase I thought about, and I tried to find something similar, of a similar quality, more locally but couldn't, because everything I saw also had a zip which I don't want in a pair of lace-up boots. I also found a leather bomber jacket recently - it's over-sized even on me, but for a winter jacket, I'm really looking forward to wearing it. I had a bomber jacket back in the 90s when they were everywhere, and wore it until it wore out, so I'm glad to have that silhouette again. Moto jackets aren't my style, but I did want a leather jacket, so with that knowledge I was hunting for a leather bomber, and found one on eBay.

I like that you made this video. I do have clothings and stuff I took care and have lasted me through the years too.
  • @ivanasancort
Talking about clothing, what is your favorite season of the year?
  • @La_Nordique_
Thank you so much, Helen, for this detailed video. ā¤
  • @jumplc
There are way too many clothes I regret buying. Thanks for this interesting video:)
  • @NastyaRedko
I think the most constant in my wardrobe since 2006 are converse all star shoes šŸ˜…
  • For me itā€™s white sneakers. My Vejaā€™s finally wore out after years so Iā€™m having to replace them and itā€™s taking me time to find what I want but Iā€™m missing them so much in my wardrobe
  • @elimac1462
Thank you for this thought provoking video. Itā€™s been interesting to reflect upon what pieces have had longevity in our wardrobes and why. I have a good collection of Uniqlo graphic t-shirts and am impressed at how they keep their shape and colour. The only issue Iā€™ve had is some yellowing around the neckline with the lighter colours (probably due to sunscreen etc). The thicker cotton tees are great to wear in our Qld cooler months but too much in the summer heat so Iā€™ve bought a couple of the lighter airism tops and look forward to wearing them this summer.

I think I have watched your videos for a long time since 2019.. that time I was just about to graduate from my grad school. I have some spare time and get to know myself and want to improve the way I dress. through out those 4 years until now, I can really tell your staples šŸ˜‚ the white embroidery shirt, wide leg trousers, and flowy dresses are very on brand of you. feels like we have been friends but not knowing personally lol
