DeSantis managed to achieve something incredible, to be fair. He managed to get people to actually cheer on Disney's lawyers.

Reminds me of the time people got rid of sites that used bots to bootleg artwork for merch by tricking the bots into going for copyrighted Disney artwork and then tattling on the site to Disney.

My favourite part of this whole debacle was the part when a Republican politician thought they had access to better lawyers than... checks notes a $183 billion dollar 100 year old corporation with an illustrious history of legal litigation almost exclusively in contract and copyright law.

The reason corporations CAN frustrate the democratic process is that the entire-ass country is set up that way. Much of it done by repugs. This time, it just happens to be much more public than usual and the corporation is, however marginally, the good guy.

If you have to give Ron Desantis credit for anything, it's that he actually managed to make Disney's infamously vicious lawyers the good guys in a story.

Man Ron DeSantis is talented. He's probably the only person that could get someone to cheer for Disney in a legal battle.
