The subtle detail where in the nier replicant versions there is only 1 emil singing, but in the nier automata version there are multiple emil's singing because he has cloned himself. JUST PERFECT!
  • Remember, Emil is the last human, watched his friends die, lost a war against the aliens in an attempt to protect the memory of his friends, and is immortal and un-killable making him unable to escape the despair-induced loneliness he is doomed to experience for all eternity.

Hear me out, Karma and Sacrifice are singed by one Emil, the original one. Despair is sang by a chorus of Emils, because of the cloning thing. But the one that really gets me is surprisingly Emil's shop, because he´s mumbling the song, as if he was trying to remember it. I might be over thinking but whatever.

I’m convinced that Nier as a series was made as a way to help the composer write one long ass opera
  • Nier did nothing wrong (actually he did a lot) but Emil... My man Emil did everything right..
  • @davidm4171
Emil is the answer of why being immortal is a curse
  • @FintanMajora
Not only does Emil have one of the best written stories behind him, but he also has one of the best theme songs
  • @tracexl
This song always makes me think of a child singing the song of a hero that always saves the day, no matter the crisis, no matter how dark the day, that hero comes shining through. The child has faith the hero will come again now, and they are coming... but they won't make it in time... they WILL fail, and the pain of that will resonate with the hero for years to come. When the Automata version hits and the chorus songs those first notes of the hero's song, that pang of tragedy hits the hero again, only this time, they WILL make it. The stronger drums, the horns, and the bridge with the woman singing sounds like a prayer from the hero that this time they'll make it; this time, no one is going to suffer. Their heart, pounding in their chest, can't take another defeat like before.

And yet he's not the first immortal young boy with an insane, now dead, sister yoko taro wrote.

It makes me think imagine if Emil could read these comments and how we all care for him maybe he wouldn’t feel so alone but it’s make me happy how we (the fans) unite to always defend our little floating friend because of how we love and adore him

Emil is not just a video game npc, he is my friend
  • Emil is the most well written and tragic character of this series and probably one of the whole video game industry. And still he's so cheerful, hardworking and optimistic. His whole story made me cry from the start to the end. I love this cute boy so much, thanks for the mix
  • @atamme2010
Gotta like those transitions from one version to another.
  • Emil and Zero have some of the saddest and most depressing backstories and are 2 of my favorite video game characters
  • emils story is probably the most depressing one in any video game i played. he deserved better
  • The contrast between the despairing vocals and the fast beat reflects Emil's Sisyphus-like fate: Where he's always against something unwinnable yet always choosing to struggle for the sake of his past friends The time stretching nature of this conflict is reflected in this mix, thanks for doing our poor boy justice
  • Shoutout to my high school brother Robby! It’s been a long time! Never thought u’ll be creating masterpiece mixes like this! Catch up soon brother!
  • @cekojuna6930
Bruh. This mix does Emil justice as the transition to the next set is smooth af. As someone that listened to many Nier mixes, this one is definitely the best mixes for Emil and the only best mix that uses all the possible available variants. Truly, well done. This aint a small feat.
  • Who else went for years and couldn’t stop crying when they heard Emil’s theme?😭
