HobbyKing MX2 EPP 955mm 38" RC Plane First Look

Published 2020-07-18
This is the rcvideoreviews.com/ first look at the HobbyKing MX2 3D EPP RC plane. My game plan is to use this plane to transition 3D sim skills to real RC planes.

Great approach to learning 3D without sacrificing your primary investment. Thanks for posting!

Can't wait to see the maiden video. I've been looking at this plane off and on for a while. As usual, great video and I'll keep an eye out for an update.
  • You will love this plane. It reminds me of my HK Yak 55 profile. It is my go-to model, even though I also have a PA XR52 and a Twisted Hobbys Veloxity. I tend to prefer foam... I fly much more relaxed, so will you. Your logic is perfect.

looks like a plane I would like to get after my skill improves

I really like this idea! Poor plane was called names straight out of the box, poor “Basher”. Oh and I have 2 Shirts!

Should be interesting to see built and fly too!

Oh Wow on the Airfoil I am getting one Alot more foil on this then twisted hobby some guys think landing gear wire is to thin bends easy great looking plane Oh yeah take measurements of front parts so you can 3d print some after your and your Fiend have some rough landings lol Take Care John

I had the same idea earlier this year. I wanted a cheap but tough plane to learn some “advanced” (for me) manoeuvres with. I didn’t like the MX2, I assumed that the plywood internals would be challenging to repair, & I read about a lack of ventilation causing problems with the ESC. Hopefully you solve this issue. I opted for the Hobby King Hummer. It’s a profile plane, EPP with only carbon rods for stiffening. The electronics have lots of ventilation being mounted on the outside. Oh! Yes, it also has airfoil wings of a similar shape to the MX2 & many balsa 3D aircraft. It has become my favourite plane to fly, partly because I worry less about crashing. PS. It’s cost less than the MX2.

Now throw those plans in the trash and get to building lol .🤣🤣🤣🤣. Always nice to have a plane in the hanger to use how u want. Thanks for sharing

This is great! I have a 3s set up from a brewster buffalo, specs are close. 2200 wouldn't fit would it?. To have something you don't care to crash and just fly! Hope to see tips, tricks, and glues used on the build. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do. As long as you don't nose it in, airhammer, you can replace most parts. Great John. AirHammer out!!
