Woah! TerminalMontage released the Gigantamax Pokemon Battle Royale video! Something About that seems familiar... oh right we helped write it. In this video, I'm going to sort of explain what happens as well as quote the Pokedex a lot, and tell you our thought process behind certain things occurring. A lot of it makes sense, some of it doesn't, and that's what I love about this.

Not gonna lie, "What killed the dinosaurs? THE ICE AGE" Before dropping a planets worth of ice on someone was amazing. Well done

I love that Hatterene just sits there having a panic attack and then just unleashes divine punishment on everything around her. I've loved Hatterene and have kept her on my team since I caught my first Hatenna early on in sword. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that she moves slower than dirt, they would be terrifying.

the "You Fool!" line is what I would yell when I used Urshifu against Dynamax Lapras, so I'm pretty pleased that others feel the same
  • Imagine this entire match happening in 3 turns before Dynamax runs out

3:55 “She is cake. Snorlax NEEDS to try to eat her out… of existence” That was pretty dang fun

I honestly thought there were hidden references behind Tyranitar, Dragonite, and Golurk not getting Gigantamaxes besides just "They should've gotten one" and I thought it was a reference to the unaired Pokemon episode with a Giant Dragonite (Aka Dragonite not getting an official Gigantamax), a reference to the gen 8 Pokemon anime where Goh catches a very large special Golurk (But it's still not big enough to be Gigantamax) and the Tyranitar was either just a simple reference to Godzilla or a reference to the large Black Tyranitar in the manga which was super powerful (And probably also a reference to Godzilla anyway) or I could be wrong and they're all just Pokemon that didn't get Gigantamax forms even though they would be cool

I dont know if anybody mentioned it already but as you know Alcremie evolves when holding a certain item and spinning in place thats why it came out of a curve Ball. I just found that little detail neat

I find it so funny and sad that Garbodor realized that it had nobody who loves it and committed not live via Gengar. We need justice for our stinky boy :(

to be fair, saying "what killed the dinosaurs? the ice age" is much cooler (pun intended) than saying they got crushed by a giant space rock, got carbon monoxide poisoning or starved

For those wondering, in the official battles also called VGC, the best Gigantamax Pokémon right now are Coalossal and Venusaur with Charizard, Rillaboom and Blastoise following close. Both Urshifu are very good too, they just tend not to Gigantamax that often. Many people tend to agree that, as the metagame develops into double restricted Pokémon allowed (you can use 2 of the hardest hitting Legendaries per team), Venusaur is probably the all-around best Gigantamax Pokémon there is.
  • 18:08 I think Lapras dont die because it have water asorb (Heal 1/4 HP when hitted by a water type move) and urshifu use surging strike (A water type move) so Lapras heal instead of die.

Melmetal’s defeat really felt like “ maybe if we make it a reference nobody’ll notice it was too easy”

Something that wasn't mentioned, but could actually be significant with sandaconda is that it gets sand veil. Sand veil increases its evasion in a sandstorm, and given the proper item, and setting up with minimize, it becomes unhittable.

5:53 “Cream melts, and cakes burn, and Venasaur is on fire.”

Honestly, good for Lapras, getting the respect they deserve. An unproblematic fav is ever there was one.

I want to see the 3% situation where snorlax wins by doing nothing
