Man never thought you would do a video on something I'm involved in. Just lost my house. It expanded rapidly at night because of canyon winds. They pushed it up the creek at night then when it got hot during the day it went over on the ridge deep in Cohasset. It sucked hearing all of the assets for Cohasset get called off and moved. The camera that burned was in Richardson's springs.

Native Californian here, now living in the Midwest. I do not miss fire season at all! But my heart goes out to all affected.

Incredible KCRA video. You can see the DC-10 shadow and how low they are to the terrain. Good the wind and fire moving North away from Chico. Thank you for your expert reporting Juan, much appreciated.

This is so painful, and due to someone’s stupidity. I’m so sorry to the people impacted, I’m hoping this is contained quickly

We dodged the bullet by 3 miles (as the crow files) in the Camp Fire in 2018 by living in the upper pines of Magalia. Had to evacuate today due to this fire, which really focuses your attention on what's important in life. Sorry to hear of those who have already lost their homes and hoping the wind gods look favorably on our neighborhood.

Wow! So very sad all the fires. This one makes me angry. A person not stopping to think what their actions could and would cause. Prayers for those fighting and for all residents and businesses for safety.

I use to live in upper Cohasset. Always knew that if there was a fire to immediately get out. Other than the one way road back down to Chico past the airport, the only other option is up through Campbellville and try to make it over to Hwy 36. Appreciate knowing what is going on up there.

You and Mark Finan always give clear educated reports that news sources rarely do. Thank you.

"The Butte County District Attorney's Office said Ronnie Dean Stout II was arrested after he was seen pushing a car that was on fire into a gully near the Alligator Hole in upper Bidwell Park shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday. That was around the same time the Park Fire sparked. Butte County DA Mike Ramsey said the vehicle belonged to Stout's mother." What a sweet son. I just saw that mr.shannon previously posted this information below.
  • Juan, many many thanks for the update...My mom's family were early settlers of Grass Valley and my grandparents retired to Paradise. Thankfully they did not see their beloved town burn in the Camp Fire. Mom and I hope to get up there this fall. Keep up the updates and keep safe.

This is a devastating fire. Thanks for your coverage. It strikes me just how thick the forest is around the drops. A century and a half of fire suppression seemingly has led to a situation where we have these conflagrations that completely scorch the earth. I live in the Mojave Desert, which used to be immune to fires but thanks to invasive species could have one of these at any time. Good luck to all involved.

I grew up in Chico and that is some very hot and dry country. I remember going out the the airport as a kid and driving around the fleet of Aero Union B17s in the 1960s ad 70s. My father was an 8th Air Force vet and always got a kick out of doing that. I also remember going out to the airport with dad to watch the Aero Union Avengers and Tigercats flying out to make air drops on wild fires. Its kind of ironic that Aero Union would have been so close to the Park Fire had they still been in business today.

On TikTok is the lady who was eyewitness to the guy pushing his car over the edge after it caught fire. He walked along the path not saying a thing to anyone while she was telling people to get out the area. Said she was running around for about 10 minutes and by the time she got back to her car the fire had almost reached it
