Kudos to Rory for calling out Matt Chorley, it's just a game for these people, it's despicable.
  • I'm not a Tory voter but I have a huge amount of respect for Rory Stewart. What this country lacks at the moment is integrity! Post office, NHS blood supply, Water companies, main stream Press, House of Lords, House of Commons, probably more. No integrity! A lot of love and respect to you Rory Stewart.
  • Rory comes across here as an honest and principled man. A pity that politics chews up people like that whilst the less desirable remain.

This interview should be mandatory for school kids to watch . If we are going to fix our political system , then we MUST start bringing moralistic values back into our politics . Rory is a TOTAL legend . Simple
  • Rory Stewart, is a gentleman and an honest man, quite rare in politics these days. As a life long Socialist and member of the Labour Party for over 50 years I can say that we need more people like him as politicians.

I say this as a flaming liberal: Rory Stewart is a good man. He puts others before himself, and is the embodiment of what a public servant ought to be. I've never voted conservative in my life, but I'd vote for him. The country would be better off if Rory were PM.

Generally, I have very little respect for Tory politicians, but for Rory Stewart I have huge respect.

I’m sorry but they absolutely shot themselves in the foot by not voting this guy in… his character and record are just extraordinary, the most extraordinary figure in contemporary conservative politics and they let him go… madness!

Rory Stewart is a good, good man. The sort of person government sorely needs today — a public SERVANT who should be in government.
  • @boreilly82
I bloody love Rory Stewart. Such a smart guy.

I am a lifelong Labour voter but I always appreciate Rory's take on politics and life in general. I'm really glad he pushed back in this interview.

He really nailed it when he called out the media for enjoying the horse race and he did it with genuine honesty. Rory's a decent bloke, which is why he had to leave the party.
  • Rory is a man of integrity driven by his values. As such its hard for journalists to relate to him. He doesn't play the game, he follows his moral compass.
  • @vivienclogger
Honest enough to know that he might not have been a great PM. We need more of that in politics. No wonder he didn't survive in politics when he survived Afghanistan and Iraq.
  • @glyn6170
A coalition of Rory Stewart's from all parties is what this country needs.
  • @arefsum
Rory gives me a massive sense of deep personal integrity, which is lacking in today's politics.
  • @Casseopia777
Good for Rory, biting back. This man talks a lot of sense.
  • @Marjorelle123
Totally agree Rory.. GOP done the same aligning with 🍊
  • I have a lot of time for Rory Stewart, so I'm going to hear him talk in Oxford later in the month. I really admire his integrity, his steadiness and his considered judgement. Far, far too good for the Conservative party.
  • Finally, Rory points out exactly the problem with our dysfunctional media. We'll said sir.
