Anong Beam talks about how for the Anishinaabe people, creating is a part of who they are as it is incorporated into every fabric of their lives. The region has produced so many important and recognized artists. She herself grew up with a lot of creativity, surrounded with her parents in terms of art and painting. She speaks on how it makes her feel included and attached to the community through this.
At the moment, she loves to venture into the landscape and collect natural materials and then in the studio, turn those matierals into authentic paint.
