  • Removing the fathers from the homes has devastated the community. White hoodie is talking facts. So much talent and potential, keep your head up guys.
  • The guy in the white hoodie made the most sense. Even though he did 12 years, he's still positive about life. In the end, the goal is to get out of the projects. Never forget where you came from, but its not a place to stay forever. I hope these brothers realize that.

Growing up in Flatbush, I viewed Canarsie as a nice area to move to if you couldn't afford to move to queens or long island. Times done changed. Bayview always been there, YOU CANT miss it coming off the Belt Parkway, but Canarsie is much much bigger than Bayview. The Majority of it is residential, Caribbean and working/middle class.

Canarsie in the summer is a vibe you can’t get no where else, people get off of work and bring they stereos outside and just bump reggae and good tunes
  • I watch these videos as motivation to move outta brooklyn NY Saving up my money
  • @jeanglaze9907
They the first people I see who don’t even give off project vibes that’s a blessing. Dude lift up his chain and said I made this & this my clothing line LOVE It Canarsie been a Italian & Jewish & smart black people area for years

Salute to Hood vlogs..been watching him for years..his vlogs hit different..they better than any vlogs I've seen shot in the town (NY)..keep up the good work..I was just searching for a new video last night..and he showed out today..
  • @techny1549
Not saying this because I was born and raised in Brooklyn NYC. Not one NYC Video compared to other states he goes to showing off money, guns, etc etc. It's the class in us and I love that these old school heavy hitters spoke positive go to school etc etc. Every other state showing off Money, Selling Drugs on Camera (Real Smart), Showing off guns. Not one video in NYC does that. 👏👏💪
  • @carl3705
The video was made by the dude in the white hoodie, smart, positive, educated, obviously been through it, still hood, but you could just see from His energy, He was alittle wiser.
  • School system is what you make it in NY honestly. Plenty of opportunities if taken advantage of. The issue is parents expect teachers to do everything when in reality the foundation starts at home. That’s the disconnect nationwide.
  • I'm glad he mentioned The Bronx and Brooklyn.. Definitely 2 of the most powerful areas in NYC boroughs. People from LA and Chicago, Dallas, ATL, Houston, Seattle etc. need to know this Lol. Yup Howard Schultz CEO of Starbucks was from Bayview Houses in Brooklyn. 1953. Dope!
  • Thank you everyone for sharing your experience, this is insightful. Lots of people probably aren't aware of this stuff unless they lived it.

I'm from Flatbush but used to come visit family in Bayview when Star Value was on Rockaway back in the days. I still remember playing tag in the playground and running thru the buildings. I'm not gonna lie it looks like it changed a lot.

Damn growing up in Canarsie, my mother still residing in Canarsie this has taken me back. I appropriate the dude who did twelve years and speaking gems.
