I leave the isolated beach I had camped at, then head inland to one of New Zealand's most famous tracks, with its stunning valleys and rivers, but I get hit by the change the locals were waiting for.

  • Joe, another fantastic video - your positive spirit is terrific. I love how your enthusiasm is undeterred by the liquid sunshine.
  • you seem to be such a balanced personality, no swearing, no rambling, just laughing over your soacked clothes. I am lovin' it! Cheers!

It cannot get any better than this Joe, you are seeing and showing parts of NZ most people would never experience, I'm like your other followers, this is the best, most down to earth motorcycling YouTube channel there is ..... I admit I have followed Itchy Boots for a few years, where she goes is mind boggling but an Aussie biker adventurer like you is closer to home .... with fantastic photography all through to boot ....cheers

I immediately switch off all the buzz in my head, as soon as I hear Joe´s voice. Accompanied by the calm rolling hills and valleys he´s passing by. The music really complement the voice and the visual "drama"... ;-) Can´t wait for the next episode.
  • Love it. One half of us misses home. Thanks for your beautiful videography & commentary. It means more than you will ever know. ❤️
  • One side mountains other side waves and in between that perfect off-road trail what else a man with adv bike can think of... pure bliss 🤩
  • Thanks Joe, another awesome video of the homeland, you know if you keep this up, I will have to move back! Probably make a few Aussies happy that a K1W1 makes the return one-way trip! Keep up the excellent work while I plan a trip home.
  • Joe, I really like your point about being at place, at a particular time. I've missed so much on my travels because of having to get there at a planned time. Luv your comedy capers re those rain pants. That family friend stay was very impressive. Great commentary and video as usual. 👏👏
  • Beautiful video and stills. Thanks Joe. It’s great that you are so honest about dropping the bike etc. still loving the bridges. Annie 🐧

Joe.. Mate another awesome episode in your series. One thing I have noticed is that you seem to have all those beautiful valleys and country roads all to yourself mate not much traffic at all ... So peaceful. And you always lift the spirit mate. Thanks for another epic part of your journey. 👍🍻
  • Did that Molesworth in the other direction many moons ago in my first van with dad and my twin. Wasn't sure how the rear wheel drive would go so bought 300kg of apricots and popped them in the back. Amazing in the summer with the blue borage everywhere.

Don't know how you do it, but some of your videography is quite amazing and seems to need time to back track and set the scene. Man, it works so, so well. Love your channel.
  • Another great video. I've been to the South Island many times but never on those gravel roads. You've whetted my appetite.
  • One of my favourite rides the Molesworth & Rainbow Try Scott Rain gear it’s the best I’ve ever owned leave your boots on 😊. Another great video thank you 🙏
  • @adamclarke1105
i was so engrossed watching this that I burnt breakfast…🤣. Nice work as always
  • The rain adds to the mood, so not really a problem (unless you're the one getting wet!). Great photos of the day regardless. Thanks,
  • Ya done it again Joe, great vlog! LMAO when you fall over on mounting the bike, and yes I've done something similar many times. Keep on keeping on!

My wife, son and I did the Molesworth a couple of days after you on the last day it was open for the year. We had brilliant fine weather and I loved it enough to want to do it again in the other direction. I was less than impressed with DOC closing the road due to fire risk when other DOC roads were open and they were still allowing tourist operators to take van loads through. Love your vids btw. Your laid back narration is almost kiwi-ish!
