I have been overwhelmed all day waiting for this moment. It is a great evening in America to have these citizens free. Thank you President Joe Biden. You are a class act.
  • I'm sitting here crying and I'm in Australia. What a great president you have and Harris to follow him.

I don't care who you are, you ought to have a smile on your face. If you don't, somethings just wrong with your mind. This is an American, who's back home and free, when he thought he die in a Russian prison and never see his loved ones again. Be proud, no matter what political side your own. We are still a United States of America.

What an incredibly tender and emotional moment. To see these folks back on US soil. To be greeted by the commander in chief and VP Harris. I can’t imagine the threading of this needle. What a complex arrangement to get these folks home. This a truly prideful moment to be an American 🇺🇸 God bless this country.

This was so moving to watch and when President Biden took off his Flag pin and put it on Paul Whelan that showed what kind of man President Biden is. That was a special moment for Mr. Whelan, one he will always remember.

Paul coming off that plane with the salute after five years held prisoner. Moving. Welcome home Marine and the rest. Watching them embrace family is what democracy is worth fighting for!

Biden took the American Flag pin off his lapel and pinned it on Whelan. What a lovely gesture.

Proud that Germany, my country, helped freeing those people. It must be an insane feeling of relief for them.
