The situation in Ecuador right now tough to understand so in this video I talk about what Ecuador feels like for Ecuadorians right now by giving my, as well as other Ecuadorians, perspective on the Tax increase and crime, talk about the power crisis in Ecuador (power outages in Ecuador), and also talk about some situations with infrastructure that have been bothering me for a long time. I also talk about whether or not you should visit Ecuador or live in Ecuador for foreigners looking to come to Ecuador.

We have been watching and following your videos since we started investigating life & expats in Ecuador. I love that you do not gloss over the facts or show only the good things about Ecuador. Keep up the good work. We have been living here in Ecuador for a year now. We love it here.

Your channel is precious because you communicate the real experience you live. Thanks, Ace.
  • Great video, Ace! I think your question , “what are you willing to put up with?” is the ultimate question. I’m also concerned about how much the Ecuadorians are willing to tolerate. Very frustrating to see your taxes increase with nothing to show for it. Take care, and thanks for the info!!!

Damn, Ecuador has a great opportunities and good geography. I am disappointed to see the government not taking advantage of the opportunity to improve the country.

Thank you GM for always sharing honest comments . I feel bad for the citizens of Ecuador that have to put up with the bad conditions such as roads, crime, power outages . We live in Vilcabamba and it’s open season on older expats . My 75 year old friend and her husband were robbed and tied up for over 10 hours. She was also repeatedly r- —d and So—-ized . There were 7 men and 1 woman . This has been happening for several years and is now escalated. This will definitely hurt the economy of Vilcabamba and Ecuador as word spreads of these horrible crimes. I’d think twice before coming here. The President needs to get a handle on this mess .

  • good and informative content. The power outages I still think it's what I heard last month on another creator's channel. The entire shortage was created to promote the power system going private. The good part is this will reduce the national budget as long as the government doesn't subsidize it. As people who live in capitalism know, this can lead to price increases, and usually, the price per kWh goes up annually. After all a private company's primary concern is their profit margins and stock holder's returns. Speaking of crime and security will be the responsibility of whoever is in charge of the Military and Police. In Ecuador, if the federal minister doesn't handle their men and women correctly, it will fast return to the past four years.

The feeling you have regarding paying additional taxes and see little results, believe it or not this is because the crime was actually worse it was believed . Its important to stay the course and you will see positive results. like saving money, in the beginning it docent seem your saving much , but as time passes by you will see the savings. Stay the course and stay focused.
  • In San Clemente del Playa Where we live, we have experienced crime and murders within one block of neighbors along with poor quality streets. We waited one hour for the police to show up at a murder scene , We came out and preserved the scene, we have worked as vecinos to repair the streets and patrol and secure our neighborhood, it has caused us to be closer within the community. Not perfect but better and a love for my neighbors and their families.
