sorry this reaction took me flipping forever to get out but my computer was playing a game of self-sabotage and was absolutely refusing to cooperate with this video for some reason. nevertheless, better late than never because this was the definition of EPIC!!

I would legit watch a full-blown movie in this style of animation. literally HOW is this humanly possible??? Bravo to all the smart and technologically gifted people who know how to make this kind of content! It's absolutely incredible to watch, and even the amount of story they were able to produce within 6 minutes is so impressive. Plus MALGUS is just everything oh my god, I think he's perfect 😭

THANKS FOR WATCHING GUYS!! MISSED U ALL

Malgus literally embodies "I'll do it myself" energy!

Malgus never disappoints! There were some amazing shots in this, loved when Malgus walked away the padawan saw her/her master from her brother's perspective.

The way Malgus says, "All your life you've been in a cage, Padawan. When you're ready... Break free!" just rings of the Sith code, "With vitory, my chains are broken! The Force shall set me free!" Will her drive to find her brother lead to her falling to the dark side, or will she be able to resist the dark side and still find her brother? Or will she still lose her brother despite everything she does and pushes herself through to find him? So many potential paths and outcomes to wonder about! Why don't we have an official Old Republic cinematic series by now?!

Malgus is my favorite sith of all time. By a wide margin. Everything about his back story to his actions from the way he ran through the entire jedi temple like a smooth knife through butter to the way he actually cares about the people of hte Empire like no other sith does. His willingness to go fully against the teachings of the Sith every time if its a detriment to his goals and still being able to single handidly run a train on any jedi or sith makes him a badass on a galactic scale, He's a huge fan of self-determination for all which makes him very compelling. He's not trying to convert her to the dark side at all. He just wants her to break free of dogmatic teachings for her own well being. Hes just hoping she will side with him once she does.

"But it's not too late. Give me the plans. We can still find your brother" Look at Malgus's eyes at about 6:03. Pause if you have to. Those are not the eyes of a man with evil intent. While yes Malgus still relies almost exclusively on the darkside for his power, his eyes here, and the fact he's telling the unadulterated truth about both the Jedi and the Sith tell me his intentions are extremely noble. The imagery of him holding the green and red lightsaber is part of the "show don't tell" aspect of this trailer also. It signifies his connection with the force is still dark, but his drive, and his mission is good. Kind of a chaotic neutral character arc he might be on. He also could have killed Sa'har at any time he wanted to but managed restraint. If this man were purely following the dogmatic ways of the Sith she would have been killed before he left. The story that is to unfold will be an amazing one.

Some of the best villains are the ones that reveal harsh truths, and use them to sow doubt in the minds of the heroes.

I feel this turned into a recruitment test from Malgus's perspective. Sahar (if that's how you spell her name?) is emotionally vulnerable because of the attachment she still has for her brother and seeing her master slain in front of her, while also demonstrating that she is very skilled and has a powerful connection to the force for a padawan. Malgus could have very easily have killed her if he actually wanted to or just for the hell of it, but left her alive with a burning and kinda twisted hope that if she breaks free from her "cage" and pursues him for the holocron, that Sahar can find and rescue her brother from his fate. It feels like Malgus was testing and tempting her to become his new apprentice/asset to his personal cause.

Malgus giving me Bane vibes. Not the fact that he is bald, menacing, incredibly powerful etc. It's that he is his own Sith in a time where there are "other" Sith. He embodies the Sith code in it's fullest teachings. Searching for power to gain victory over his opposition despite his disadvantages. He is great.
  • If you play as a Sith Warrior, your first companion in the game is a Twi'lek named Vette, voiced by Catherine Taber, who was Padme in the Clone Wars.
  • @daddyjosh9931
That blew me away, the ending gave me chills πŸ₯Ά
  • Amazing, especially the last line of the master, I mean so simple yet so meaningful, implying regret for having failed as a teacher, at the same time regret for allowing her to observe something that will hurt her for life and finally for not being able to continue by her side, and darth Malgus!! great vid
  • Fun fact, Catherine, when Vader was redesigning his Lightsaber fighting style after he got his new limbs and armor, he took a LOT of inspiration from Malgus's fighting style.
  • @edirt
I like Malgus kinda twist of the Sith code in the end, he is so cool.
  • @riolkin
When Malgus has begun to make sense, you know shit has gone wild.

Doing the right thing is hard, not because it's easy to do unintentional harm, although that can be true. It's hard because unlike in games there isn't any red or blue outlined options to choose from that show you the kinds of choices you're making. I think the Jedi forget this a little too often to truly call themselves good. They try. They forget the little kindnesses that add up to being good. He could have taken both children. The brother clearly has some connection to the force. Does it matter that he probably wouldn't become a full Jedi? The younglings who don't get chosen as padawans become farmers using their connection to the force to help grow crops. The chain around his neck suggests he was made into a slave after his sister was taken. I'd say that farming is a better fate than slavery. Then we look to what might have happened in the trailer if the padawan's brother was safe on an agriculture world. They might have managed to keep the holocron away from Malgus.
  • Crazy fact: the guy who played Grand Maester Pycelle in GoT played General Veers in ep 5 and his son voices Darth Malgus
  • Is as if Malgus was telling those last words to us. "All your life you’ve been in a cage... When you are ready, break free!." We've seen through the years how Jedi and Sith act, but now we are going to see what leaving a prospect behind actually can bring doom and sorrow within the Jedi or Sith. More on the Jedi tho.
  • @shanenolan8252
There is a good book about malgus . Deceived ( based at the time of the jedi temple battle deceived trailer)
  • @Ed-qo4oz
Malgus is pretty spry for a 73 year old cyborg, and yes sexual themes your characters in game can romance and even marry others. Smugglers can sleep their way through the galaxy more than most πŸ˜‚
