For five decades I would not have been able to identify a crane brand unless the brand was painted on it with giant letters. Today, a self-mobile crane drove past and I said, "That's a Franna!" and sure enough, a moment later I saw Franna written on the back of the boom. I was such a happy geek! Thanks for all the great videos, Kurtis and Karen. I love watching you guys!

I simply can't believe the quality of the videography on this channel. Karen's as inventive and accomplished in her own way as Kurtis is in his. It's a magic combination.

For many years on American public access TV, there was a show called New Yankee Workshop with Norm Abram. He was a master carpenter who would find interesting pieces and replicate them, often with improvements on the original design. Kurtis gives off that very same vibe. It's hypnotic to watch a master craftsman showcase their skills. Always the highlight of my Friday mornings. Kudos to Karen for keeping this one under an hour. The bar bending flashback was just right.

My father represented a company that manufactured cutting tools and he called on machine shops in Bridgeport, CT. He took me with him once when I was about 12 to show me what machine shops were all about. Since that day I've always loved machining and have thoroughly enjoyed watching this channel. I really don't know why I didn't become a machinist myself. It's a profession to be proud of.

Just amazes me how good of an old school engineer you are, these big oil companies are full of people calling themselves engineers which to me is an insult. None of them can weld, machine and do what you do but because they play on a computer and shuffle paperwork they have the audacity to say “I’m an engineer”. To me engineers are the guys like you who get shit done, the builders of worlds!
