Still thought that them actually making their own website the place for everything like these was something they should've been from the start. Will miss the memories we all got from the sub but I feel like everything would be more tight knit and polished if they had their own platform for it.

You know what, I really think that was the right choice. Reddit very clearly has been quite a mess, I will definitely miss it though. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” fits perfectly here. edit: yeah no idk what I was thinking ain’t no one crying over this, myself included. Even if Reddit doesn't actually shut down, there's going to be a point where everyone has abandoned it for other platforms, and with that will come a power vacuum to the internet, and I'm interested in seeing who, if anyone, can or will fill that space.

This is a really good lesson for all social media corporations out there that I feel like none of them have learned. The only reason they exist is because their users don’t have anywhere else they like better. Companies like to get cocky and make changes that worsen the user experience, but up until now most have kept it small enough so as to not make the entire service unusable. Reddit has finally proved one of the most important principles in business still applies to the digital world.

Personally, I'm all for bringing back Minecraft Forums and Planet Minecraft as places for the Minecraft community. They are both very well established, and really only need people to come back and use them. They are also specifically intended for the game, so it's extremely unlikely that they will ever go the way of Reddit and Twitter.

Yeah, this is definitely an end of an era. I got into Minecraft in the Beta days and remember spotting Notch and Jeb hanging out in the subreddit. Hope Mojang will keep similar level of presence in other forums.

All those times we would say goodnight to our friends and hop off the server with the phrase "see you tomorrow." Never thought Minecraft would do the same to us in any way

Although Reddit’s been a thorn on my side just from what I’ve heard, I’ve realized how many precious memories were also there too. Reddit reading videos, Minecraft community, Kingdom Hearts community, etc. they were all there. It still feels pretty bad to see this happen and I hope new memories and important news can be posted elsewhere.

The fact that this video both talks about how sad it is that minecraft's reddit is basically closing, and has Lumber Tycoon 2 main theme which i played a lot in the past makes me so sad

I played Minecraft pretty much everyday from the 1.7 - 1.12 era. So much nostalgia with this game.
