  • I don’t normally yell at the tv but I’m yelling, “Queen Elizabeth”, “Gone with the Wind(looks like Scarlett’s huge hat)”, “The Sound of Music doll”, “Hummel doll”!!! Alex is not excited by all the dolls but those are all highly collectible. Some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Love you to find a doll expert and talk about them. They’re incredible. And to have all those complete sets.
  • Sheri Lewis: a blast from the past. I forgot all about her. And yes, I am old enough to remember watching her on our console T.V..

Those beautiful dolls don't belong in plastic bags hidden in a luggage in some closet. Such amazing treasures should be enjoyed and looked at. I am glad Alex rescued them from their prison 🙂
  • When you pulled out the Vivian Leigh doll and you were talking about the clothes, I started thinking about a dress made from the curtains with a rod still in it😆, from the Carol Burnett Show.
  • Hi Alex - I believe that the Alexander Doll Company “Louisa” doll read “The Sound of Music” on the side of the box. That would be one of the Sound of Music children. I also noticed in the box - a piece of paper or cardboard with a guitar on it. Take care.
  • The time this lady took to curate this collection is truly remarkable. Just magnificent
  • Alex just the dresses alone for some of the Alexander doll’s bring up to $1000 ! Would definitely put a reserve on all these dolls . Maybe even do a separate Doll auction!!! You hit the jackpot on these!!!
  • I read that this amazing woman had at least 500 dolls in her collection. I hope Alex is able to share more about her at some point.
  • As someone who used to collect dolls, this collection looks so familiar: The patterns for clothing ideas, the small jewelry pieces to use with a doll, the bits and pieces of clothing. This just brings me back to my younger days. Such fun!
  • The Alexander doll company and Madame Alexander are the same company. The Scarlett O’Hara/Vivian Leigh Doll was the first doll created from a licensed character (Scarlett O’Hara). She’s probably valuable, especially if you find any of her clothing or accessories made by Madame Alexander specifically for that doll. She definitely needs to be thoroughly researched and properly valued before she goes to auction.
  • these dolls deserve an auction of their own, so they don't get lost in the whole mass of stuff from the Christmas house. The suitcases are quite nice too.
  • Unbelievable how this person kept all the dolls and their accessories with such an amazing care. Grateful for all the comments with so much information, thank you. These suitcases are a dream come true for any little girl that appreciates vintage/antique dolls! 🤩

Each suitcase a trousseau with it's own doll from the time. Wow! A real treasure for the doll collecting world.
  • Old patterns are very collectable to many sewing enthusiasts! YouTube channels are dedicated to this.
  • I'm stunned - not by the dolls, but by this collector's attention to detail. It's meticulous. Notes on everything, bagged separately, all collection pieces kept together. It is really remarkable the time and attention she put into this.

Hi Alex the round straw 'mat' in the Vivien leigh case could be like scarlets big flat hat she wore to the bbq at 12 oakes at the beginning of the film. It would have ribbons threaded across the crown and tied in a big bow to keep the sun off her complexion.
  • I hope you keep the dolls with all their accessories together as they were. I worry about this as you removed the dolls and put them elsewhere. Also you really should get a doll expert to do valuations on each doll. Some may be worth way more than you imagine.
  • Those early Alexander dolls are Very highly sought after!!! That is a Very extensive collection!!!
  • Strange how this cuts off so abruptly (without Alex even saying "Bye for now". Can't wait to see how it continues!
