Back in 2010, Slash talked us through the making of his debut solo album – playing with Josh Freese and Chris Chaney, working with producer Eric Valentine – and showed us how to play By The Sword, the song he wrote with Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale AND explained how GN'R wrote Paradise City – and showed us how to play it.

I could listen to Slash talk forever. Something about his voice is soothing.

wow I never knew slash was such a chill guy. so well spoken too.
  • He speaks well, no swearing. I have a new found respect for Slash. He's intelligent and has some class. Super talented too.
  • You can hear his passion when he talks about guitars, GnR and music in general. The guy is a living legend!

Slash please, never die. You´re the spirit, the very essence of Rock n´ Roll.

How to become a legend 1. Have a curly hair 2. Become brian may or slash
  • Worth watching the whole video, but for those with ADD, Paradise City starts at 7:00

I love how easy he makes guitar playing look.

He reminds me of the cool dude in high school that knew he was good, but didn't brag about it & always had a guitar around.

Slash rocks. He’s so humble. The video where he’s playing with Les Paul shows what a great guy he is. Doesn’t show off his skills too much. Just jams along to what Les is playing. Super cool. Love this guy!! 🕶🎶✌🏻

Slash is a real talent and seems to be a really humble down to earth guy. Not full of him self. I really enjoy just hearing him talk.
  • That's why I love the work of Izzy and Slash together. They hardly ever play the same thing on the guitar but both thier parts together make up the song. Night train, Brownstone, My Michelle and Rocket Queen are my favorites on that record.

For him to say that these Rock Anthems "wrote themselves" when he clearly wrote them shows what a humble genius he is.

Thank you so much for surfacing this! Now I finally understand how Slash and Izzy’s rhythm parts intertwined.

The lads certainly hit the jackpot with writing songs that wrote themselves, One of the best albums of all time.
  • Thank You Slash, for reminding me of fun filled school days. !!!! Those were the days man....
