Testors/Italeri F 19 Stealth Fighter Part 2

Part 2, and final of the fictional (?) F-19 Stealth Fighter in 1/48 scale by Testors/Italeri. It was fun, and a simple quick build of a fascinating subject. There were gaps to fill, basic details with some fit issues here and there but all in all a decent kit.

Sick model dude! Kind of reminds me of the f117 😁

I had this model back in the day as well... This is the model TOM CLANCY used to describe the Stealth Fighters in RED STORM RISING, giving them the nickname "Frisbee" due to the rounded wings. Something about this design, it's just very cool. And did take some design elements as described by some leaked conversations... but they were not put into the actual Stealth Fighter, the F-117.
  • A nice result Paul! Fine work Sir. If I might make an observation Paul - and it's just me looking at you working on the kit's seam issues and thinking of how I would deal with them - have you thought of using sprue goo on the larger, deeper join discrepancies? I take Tamiya green top cement (Extra Thin) and add pieces of plastic to it, then just leave it for several days for the chemical processes in the glue to turn cement into a thick, plastic filler matrix that adds plastic to the join, which is stronger than filler. Apply several thin coats and allow to dry thoroughly then sand as you would putty. Just a thought. How's the fishing going? I hope you are catching a few! All the best Paul from a cold dreary Tuesday afternoon in Stratford, New Zealand.
